It would be strange if they did not mention sanju or his life in reaponse to his biopic.

As for quoting memes...well. even i dont think that counts for much. If anything hirani made ranbir career. Not sanju.

As for appreciation...even in jagga people said we liked ranbir. We hated tge movie. Same in tamasha. And many more.

He got his appreciation. For a mainstream leading actor just acting will not bring in moolah at bo. It needs a good watchable film too no?

This topic was about ranbir performance in sanju. Not about why people went to see it. I and a lot of others went to see it for hirani and ranbir. You went for sanju. But that does not make you tge majority. I am perfectly aware that sanjay dutt life is controversial and it has its own pull. But not on everyone no?

The story was good. The life it was based on is interesting. I guve tgat credit to sanjay dutt and hirani and joshi completely.

ben kingsley portrayed gandhi(not comparing ben vs ranbir...so help me God. Just an eg). People went to see who? The story. That does not take away from the actor.

Say what you want, despite the deliberate whitewashing and distortion of the facts, initial opening is the only thing that can be credited to Sanjay- the rest is because of the word of mouth generated by Hirani's storytelling and Ranbir's superb portrayal of Sanjay!

However Ranbir's Sanju is not his best, Kareena is just being her usual self! I would rate his Tamasha/Rockstar/Rajneeti/Barfi wayyy above Sanju!
