show me where hirani admitted this?? he said that more scenes were added, more anecdotes that he gave about his life were added, he didn't say he modified his character, what bloody crap! Stop putting words in other people's mouths, I am sorry if your ranbir cannot enjoy success without sharing it with sanju, thats his problem, no need to take it out on sanju! And you clearly stated that you do not think most people were there for sanju but were there for ranbir? this is all silly assumptions, read any old film magazine, sanju has been shown to be n0.1 in the early 90s, ur ranbir has never been no.1! It is sad that your ranbir had to do this "propoganda" "whitewashing" film to save his career, going by your own silly logic!
After facing criticism for whitewashing the life of Sanjay Dutt in his biopic, Sanju, Rajkumar Hirani has now admitted that he added scenes to the movie just to make the character more likeable.
Speaking at an event in Mumbai on Wednesday, Hirani said the earlier version of Sanju was closer to real life as he wanted to When the first edit was ready and we screened for people, they hated him. They said we don't like this man. We don't want to watch him. Because I wanted to do a true story, I didn't create any empathy towards him. I said let's not create empathy and show as he is. But later I understood that he was our hero and we needed some empathy for him," Hirani said.Hirani's comments confirm the notion that the film was indeed written in such a way that Dutt's image would be rehabilitated.
