Apparently irked by Priyanka's exit from Bharat, superstar said to be in talks with Kat for role; Jacqueline also in contention

Bollywood fans woke up to rumours of Priyanka Chopra's engagement with beau Nick Jonas yesterday. Director Ali Abbas Zafar further fuelled speculation when he announced that the actor was no longer part of Bharat due to "a very special reason" and that she had informed them of the decision "in the Nick of time".

While Chopra's fans went into a tizzy about her rumoured impending wedding, Salman Khan, according to sources, has gone into overdrive mode to find a leading lady, with Katrina Kaif apparently being his first choice. Jacqueline Fernandez too is said to be in consideration.

A trade source tells mid-day, "Priyanka had been in talks with the Bharat team over the past two weeks about how she may have to opt out for personal reasons. Sensing Priyanka's iffy attitude, Salman initiated talks with Katrina during their Dabangg Reloaded Tour in the US. Other names including that of Jacqueline are also being tossed around.

But Katrina is likely to give her nod as soon as she returns from London." Nikhil Namit, CEO, Reel Life Productions, says, "Priyanka told us she had to exit due to her engagement, two days ago. It was a little unprofessional of her to do it so suddenly." Kaif and Zafar remained unavailable for comment.

the only logical explanation to it is that she is pregnant..

she can still do the other movie coz it is not action and they may wrap up before it shows..

people can totally manage engagement/marriage and work together..and this is PC..the girl who is crazily ambitious and a total career oriented person..she even went to work shortly after her father's death coz that is what heals her..makes her feel alive..i refuse to believe she of all the people will walk out just coz of an engagement/marriage..nope not buying that

It's an excuse! She probably wasn't a fan of all the new additions that were being made and also the Race 3 effect and backed out in the Nick of time, her thinking that the engagement with Nick is a good excuse! But I guess that plan backfired since Sallu and the team be pissed.

Madhuri was pregnant DURING a major portion of Devdas' shooting.

No she wasn't. Devdas filmed in 2000-2001. Premiered in May 2002. Madhuri gave birth in March 2003.

So unless she was pregnant for more than a year, it is not true.

Ali told Mirror, "I am extremely excited to work with Katrina and Salman again. We have had exciting collaborations in the past. Katrina got on board in the 'Nick' of time for this project.

Ali is trying really hard to make it seem like Priyanka left Bharat because of Nick. I guess that's better than Priyanka leaving Bharat for a bigger movie or Priyanka losing faith in the project or last minute changes Priyanka didn't agree with.
