Priyanka called unprofessional for quitting...Quit for Pratt Movie? p2 - Page 2

It's been a minute or two since we've had an update on the film version of Cowboy Ninja Viking, but now we've got the first casting news since Chris Pratt originally signed onto the project back in 2014.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Priyanka Chopra is in talks for the female lead as Pratt's "love interest" in the adaptation of the Image Comics graphic novel by writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo. It is not clear exactly what role she is up for, but a couple of possibities are Grear, the ex-wife of lead character Duncan (Pratt), or Sara Nix, his current love interest and the assistant to Dr. Ghislain, the creator of the story's Triplets Program.

Michelle MacLaren (Game of Thrones) was brought on board to direct the picture, which follows the character of Duncan, who suffers from multiple personality disorder and is known within his counter-intelligence unit as a Triplet. With each of his three personalities trained in a different skill set that of cowboy, ninja and viking Duncan is dispatched to track down a number of Triplets who have gone rogue.

The comic ran for 10 issues in 2009 and 2010 before being collected as a graphic novel. The film has been in development since 2010, first at Disney and then Universal, and the script has gone through a number of drafts by writers like Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool), Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part III), and more recently Dan Mazeau (Wrath of the Titans) and Ryan Engle (Rampage).

Directors such as Marc Forster (World War Z), David Leitch (Deadpool 2), and Chad Stahelski (John Wick Chapter 2) also spent some time on the project before MacLaren -- who was at one time slated to direct Wonder Woman -- got the nod.

Chopra, a star in her native India for many years before breaking into the American market, is best known here for her starring role in the ABC series Quantico. Pratt, of course, is the star of the massive Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy franchises (and spoke out earlier today (July 30) in favor of reinstating James Gunn as the director of the latter series' third installment.)
