Why single out Aloo ? Because KJO created not just nepotism but a monopoly. She is the only actress with good scripts. Who else is the competition ? When there was Madhuri, there was Sridevi. When there was a Kajol there was a Rani, a Kareena, Karishma, an Ash, a Sush, a Raveena. There was lots of competition. Hell there are three Khans. Who else is there other than Aloo ? We have got mediocre Aloo and we think she is the best. What the hell was HTP ? It practically killed Pari's career though she was to blame to. I tend to think KJO deliberately gave her that.
Aloo is a KJO creation, the public did not or does not have enough choices. Otherwise a girl who looks like Aloo will never, ever become a BW heroine let alone a top tier one. She would have become a Shabana or a Tabu because of her acting. Hell even Vidya with her acting prowess has not gone as high as Aloo if suddenly an actress was so much in demand she will be close to #1. Aloo is no one without KJO. The public accepted because they had few choices and she is the better out of the bad out there. Let us see now with actual competition from someone like Jhanvi how she will fare. Jhanvi who comes with the might of Sridevi legacy and BO receipts in the South too. Finally some actual competition.
Despite all the above, the reason I respect Aloo is because of @Bold. Plus she is a hard worker.
