Cause Aloo is KJO's creation, occasional android. He literally created her and she does not show much personality. I don't think she has a brain half the time. She also reminds me of Begum. I saw a picture of KJO and Begum wearing sun glasses, inside a plane . These people are from a planet far, far away according to me, not planet earth.

But Jhanvi and Ishaan belong to this planet even if they are from filmi families. Both give good interviews, are very articulate, have a POV and a personality. Jhanvi knows fashion, she dresses well, after a long time someone I can copy other than DP. She and Ishaan know movies but are not annoyingly slappable like Harsh. And to top it all they love dancing and food. They are my kind of people, someone I would love to hang out with. I could play movie charades with them for hours, cook Laal Maas and go shopping. They are a product of their environment and families. Aloo is more KJO than Mahesh Bhatt's daughter which is not a good thing for me to like.

Jhanvi is very adorable and looks very grounded at the moment...while Alia was an airhead in the beginning...but Alia is an excellent actor...and she is being loved for her performances...will Jhanvi be loved more or less...will be seen in the next 2-3 years and next few movies that Jhanvi does.

No idea. It is very hard to dislike Janhvi because of various reasons. She is simple and while entitled, appears humble and well aware of her privilege. She seems to have a genuine hunger to prove herself and puts in the effort. Of course, it's impossible not to feel some empathy towards her as well because of her mother's passing.
Alia is entitled with a capital E and makes no bones about trying to hide it. She's popular and has built her fans on her cute personality and her performances. Her fanbase is more young kids and girls (which Janhvi and Sara and Ananya will be fighting for as well). The men don't seem to care much about Alia, which is her downfall. They are more interested in Janhvi.

That being said Janhvi will be pitted against Sara more than Alia though they will likely all be competing for the same roles.

exactly...while Jhanvi is just starting...Alia is already being touted as the #1 giving competition to Deepu and Kat..so they are not in the same league anyways.

Alia is already no.1. She's a much better actress than Deepika and Katrina and I think the audience too was looking forward to move away from the tall skinny model types that had taken over BW in the last generation. Alia is cute and sweet and the girl next door that hasn't really existed since the Kajol/Rani era. She can fit into roles that the typical hotties can't and is much more relatable.

Off screen personality is overrated. I don't think the average public even knows what most actors are like away from their movies. Unless you hang out online discussing it, even interviews are in one ear and out the other.

Jhanvi and Sara and Ananya and whoever will be compared to each other, not with Alia.

For people who say Aloo is established, even #1, well the same argument I usually give. I am yet to see who she is without KJO. Deepika lasted for 8 years crappy movie after crappy movie until Cocktail as an outsider, without a godfather because either people found her beautiful, liked her figure, fitness, whatever. That is stardom to me. The ability to stand on your own. With all the newbies coming will Aloo be able to stand on her own. Not just movies, I am talking covers, campaigns, RC coverage. That is what made Sonam an international, star despite hardly a great movie resume. Gave her Cannes year after year. Gave Kat stardom despite her acting.
It is why when people talk about Aloo it is more about acting and next KJO. She is a KJO created star. Will she stand one without him ? My answer is no. The question for me has always been did people accept her because they had no other choice. Well there are choices now and the ones who stand will be created not by KJO, just given a start but will have to stand on their own. Jhanvi will stand on her own even in the South. I feel comfortable saying that.

My answer is YES...she would...because she is loved by the audience...giving the example of Salman Khan family for the umpteenth time...nothing works if the audience doesn't love u...no KJo would work...that is why Sohail and Arabaaz didn't work...the audience didn't love them...that is why the son of the biggest superstar AB Sr didn't work...he also got opportunities...Salman is still trying to make the movies of his brothers' work...nope they don't work so let's not kid ourselves by saying that Alia works because of KJo..she works because the audience love her...its as simple as that..😛

She has had roles tailor made for her. KJO has practically hand picked movies or written scripts for her. And Aloo worked very, very hard. She is a good actor. But I am not talking just acting here, BI. I am talking stardom. Aloo maybe #1 in BO. But will she have lasted had she had Deepika's resume in the beginning. Absolutely not. Audience accepted her because they loved the kind of movies she was in.

Stardom to me is having your own fan base that buys clothes because you wear it. Like Meghan Markle. Aloo has campaigns where she is mostly cute, not sexy. BW heroines who were #1 were also considered sexy at least in the 80s.onwards IMO not behenji. Bhai thought a heroine was plug and play and he could replace Kat with Daisy Shah and still get similar results. BO proved otherwise even for a Masala movie. Not every girl in tight clothes is sexy or eye candy. Some girls have an IT factor, Jhanvi has it. Aloo was propped by KJO. Will she last long ? I doubt it.

She's an actress so it's a great thing that people talk about her acting and the real stardom and respect that comes with it - the ability to open movies, carry them, win awards and have a marquee name that actually matters at the box office.

It doesn't matter if she has KJo because she wouldn't have him if he didn't believe in her. There are plenty of others he could support and give these roles to but he chooses to do it for Alia.

What you are talking about is tabloid celebrity status - red carpets, fashion, magazine covers and pointless fame that keeps people afloat without movies and acting. Even the Kardashians have that. Even Priyanka has that in a more minor way in the US. That isn't real meaningful stardom. Heck, even people like Maliaka Arora and Sophie Chowdhury (in a smaller way) have that. 😆

Number 1 is usually a Star who has worked for longer than 10 years and has maintained that position and has a global fan base. In that case it is deepika IMO. For other various reasons too she is a star becuause of her looks. I think alia is doing really well but she has not worked to that level I feel nor has she demonstrated extreme versatility. She is beginning to though and she has done some great roles. But I'm talking about the future..future, say in 6-7 years. I personally think alia is already considered a Star and she was categorized as one from the very beginning because of the publicity and kjo connect. But there is an eventual superstar in every actresses generation. She belongs in the new gen. So I'm talking new gen actors who seem to be born in the late 80's to 90's and beyond.
