Yes. And then if her next film flops, she will be ripped apart-'there was nothing appealing about her anyway apart from her mom'. And if Alia delivers another BB, we will be back to 'there is no beating Alia'. And if DP comes back with a good performance and hit after a few months, we will say 'she was always the queen the rest were seasonal flavors'. And if Katty delivers, it will be back to 'this classy and dignified woman slayed. We always knew she was good'. But we need to keep in mind this will last only for a few months or weeks and the cycle continues 😆

There wasn't much hype about Alia. No one expected much from Alia. Even in SOTY she didn't had any role to talk about unlike Jhanvi in Dhadak. She was mere showpiece in SOTY. It was later that things changed (thanks to KJO and Alia's hard work).

While with Jhanvi if there are expectations then there is huge hype as well due to being daughter of probably the biggest female superstar bollywood have ever seen. Many of Sri fans have already strong soft corner for Jhanvi.

Let's see how she does in her next few movies before we judge much about her and draw comparisons and conclusions with Alia.

I think ...that's partially because it's hard to root for someone who has seen absolutely zero struggle in life and who has had everything handed to them on a silver platter. There's no story..nothing to relate to. Other star kids have it easy as well, it's not just Alia, but they at the very least, try to do their own lobbying and get films or they branch out or something. Alia has KJo do all the work for her. She does her acting job well enough which is what she's required to do but I can't root for her because of the above. If she tries to do things on her own and away from KJo then sure.

BTW, I'm definitely not saying Janhvi has it even remotely difficult. She's BW royalty and really only needs to give half decent performances to survive and be set. I'm sure Balki/Gauri Shinde and other Sridevi loyalists will sign her for films soon. She'll obviously be ripped apart if she doesn't improve or is terrible in her next film. But if Kjo does the same for her, then she'll get the same brickbats.

Also, it's also only natural for people to be excited about some competition in the younger generation.

Katrina, Kareena, Deepika, Priyanka peak is long gone and they're not going to be considered #1 again. They'll still do films, but it's not really the same thing unfortunately the way BW is. Kangana, Vidya do their own thing. Parineeti, Shraddha, Kriti are there but Kriti needs a lot of work...Shraddha cannot act and has no screen presence. Parineeti seems to have lost her spark. Jacqueline ...no. Disha Patani... possible but she has to do more to really be sure. Her appeal is totally opposite of Alia's anyways. So ...no competition is no fun.

Jhanvi has that grace and aura of a star ..she looks gorgeous onscreen..alia looks plain and bland...

Someone said Vidya is no 1 ..lmao .. she was never in the race ..

It's always been ..Priyanka vs Kareena vs Katrina/ Deepika Vs Anushka Vs Kangana ( post 2014) .. atleast in the last 10 years ..Balan was never a commercial actress hence no number game ..

Rangan was impressed!!

No one liked her much in the promos..so I am guessing she has the X factor.

No matter how much jahnvi gets hyped up, if she does bad in her films henceforth ppl will start getting harsh on her. She has to prove herself in every film that she does henceforth. Just like Alia.

I think ppl did not expect much of her acting in dhadak so when she actually showed her acting chops ppl were impressed. I think neutral audiences went in to watch dhadak prejudiced against debutants so they were surprised in a good way. And it also helped that the role of parthavy allowed jahnvi to showcase a range of emotions throughout the film. While thats good, she needs to be consistent with all directors and actors she works with. Only then i think this love will sustain. Also, i do agree ppl would have been much harsher on her was sri alive today. There is a sympathy factor too especially now. But all the best to her, she has no reason to not do well if she keeps all this in mind.

Alia had a debut with a flowerpot role. She hardly had anything to do in SOTY besides being tossed from varun to sid. Her real acting debut was highway where she truly showed her talent. Ppl wont forget alia, she has her own following and i dont think her fans are switching from her to jahnvi anytime soon.

You may not care about fashion, 90% of the Masala film watcher boys do not care, but the millennial girls' even working women do. They do care about fashion. No one knows this better than the paparazzi. That is why you get airport pictures of what Deepika or Sonam or Mira or Kangana even your Begum wore, not Aloo. That is why paparazzi is standing at Aloo's house only when Ranbir visited her, cause they are more interested in Ranbir's love life, not Aloo's. They are not standing at the gym when she works out. But they do that for Jhanvi even before a film released. I don't see gym pictures of Sara or any other star kid. That is stardom. Just like Taimur is a star and not every other starkid is not however cute they are. The IT factor, you just have to have it.

I haven't seen Dhadak but from trailers I don't think she's as good an actress. From bad at best her acting can be average once I see the movie IMO, would love to be proved wrong. Let her other movies come out and we will see.

Anyway BW desperately needs new actresses it's getting majorly limited now. Jahnvi definitely seems humble but I don't know how much of that is calculative and how much is genuine. Time reveals everyone's true colors 😆

Alia has earned a place for herself that no one will be able to take she usually does all kinds of roles well but alias claim to fame were the jokes made on her not her debut movie but janvi has earnt decent publicity with her debut film but time will decide whether janvi will be more loved than alia
