Unlike the 'Madras Cafe' , 'Parmanu is a success film, film to be celebrated. First showed how our PM got assassinated due yo intelligence failure and Parmanu shows how despite of pressurizing India to from all the sides and From America to China to Pakistan, we emerged successful as nuclear state!
Why this story was important to be told?
Strategically each and every country possess nuclear power but India was given second hand treatment and being pressurized not to gain nuclear energy, why? Why should India be intimidated by others and why not develop its power?
We all know how important is nuclear power going to be when all the other natural resources get depleted. And we with the amount of scientist and engineers who are able to provide brains all over the world will be beneficial for our own future!
'Parmanu' highlights every need of this mission and the tag of being successful nuclear state. Its success story of of all of them, from scientists to engineers to the army. The reason why 11th May when nuclear test was done is celebrated as National Technology day!
We did have successful nuclear test in 1974 but it was not under pressurized radar then.
Story has been shown in perspective of Ashwat Raina, played by John, this mission shown as vision of him. He develops such a team to execute his mission. I thoroughly enjoyed it, unlike as I said for Madras Cafe where I know the result will be our failure at that time. Both stories presented by John. I am so proud of him to come up with these subjects.
Actually I was so low on expectations that this film gave me pleasant surprise! Why I like John in such roles! He has such a command in his work and sincerity with which he tells the story, because he chooses these stories to tell us. His vision, enthusiasm and reason to put forward such topics as movie works and it shows!!!!
All the supporting team did excellent job, the music and BG was good too for the mood of movie. The importance of keeping this mission secret is shown well.
The failure if American intelligence the way they were keeping tab on us still we got it done was the highlight of this mission. America does it, Russia does it China does it, hell breaks lose when India does it, kya dadagiri hai?
The team worked so hard in desert battling the burning heat and sandstormes filming the movie. It was so disappointing to read this work was not paid by coproduction, good that John stood up for them too!
I cannot tell so proud I am of John!
I really hope he continues to make such films even if they are not commercially overwhelming, atleast such movies are made!
This mission was a brain child of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Sir. His role was pivotal in success of this Operation Shakti. This film is based on real event woven in fictional characters. Kalam sir's image is so huge to be shown in a movie not attracting any controversies, the nation loves and respects this person so much!
