i understand your point but i feel with kareena it was a also something in her obviously which helped her survive those flops..which esha and abhi couldn't despite having bigger surnames coz they lacked something kareena had in abundance..may be spark..presence etc etc

Wrong examples. Abhishek is back again. Plus he never vanished...he always had films which he chose not to do. Esha with her surname also got MTV Roadies. I dont see what other qualification she had to get that show apart from her surname.

her films with Khans and devgan had her in very minor roles so I assume that actresses like Rani, Priety, Kajol and Aish might have got many such offers but they simply did not want to star opposite Khans just to be a showpiece and waited to come back in a solid role, same goes for Vidya or even Priyanka too. even at her lowest phase PC had done movies where her roles had significant importance.

Kareena is a star, no doubt, but the super stardom which a leading lady achieves and conquers throughout the years has not been achieved by her yet, in that case even Katrina has a better track record with much better roles in her films except Dhoom3.

As others said, I think Rekha and then Sridevi are the only actresses who had longest runs as a leading heroine. Sridevi infact has never done any movie where her character was not the central lead, a very rare feat by any bollywood actress. I love Sri 😭

forget esha, even Abhi just like kareena kept getting films after so many flops, it was only few years back when Abhi himself lost interest whereas Kareena married saif and chose to do films opposite Khans to get blockbusters irrespective of how much importance she will have in the movies.

Also, do not forget, KJO was backing Kareena, Kareena also had looks and talent whereas Esha was neither backed by dharma and nor does she have much talent. Kareena also made sure she remains in the buzz for her love affairs with shahid and saif ..😳

Karwana was always a box office poison. she was never a box office gold like Katrina at her peak or deepika. she never was a true number one and she is irrelevant since 2010 as leading lady

my post was not to deny nepotism..it exists and very strongly

it was to highlight that imo kareena survived the flops due to factors more than just nepotism and surname..and esha doing mtv roadies exactly proves my point..if she had any talent..she would not be getting a b grade show to host through her surname but would be active doing leading roles in A list movies like kareena..

nepotism can only take you thus far not to the place kareena has reached..

Additionally may I add...VEERE DI WEDDING is not a supporting role. She IS the lead.
The only male in the film Sumeet is paired opposite her. She IS the veer who's getting married. And in the trailer her name is mentioned before anyone else.
