Sid has already been given ample chances but he failed to utilize them properly. It is not his fault entirely. He is a decent actor IMO. But what did lacks is the spark needed to become a hit commercial star. Varun has that in spades, although I don't find him to be any better than did as far as acting is concerned.

Sid should probably start being a little more independent now and start exploring other options. If he has any shame and dignity left then he should stop hanging out with kjo/alia gang.

Bechare mentor ki kia ghalti.. Whatever the reason is, Kjo gave as much opportunities to Sid as he gave to Alia... But Sid could not turn the tide in his favor.. Bechara KJo kab tak paise lutaye ga

@Bold. Or maybe he just doesn't have as much to offer? 😆 KJo has produced 6 films starring Sid in his 5 year career. And in most of those films, he's worked with top heroines or top stars and also sizeable budgets.

@Italics. Baar Baar Dekho flopped with chartbuster music and a popular costar.

I'm just tired of reading excuses for Sid that he's not being marketed as well as Alia/Varun or the scripts he's signing is not working etc. That EVERY actor faces and he is more well off than Ayushmann/Rajkumar and even they are seeing success. Most of the time, everyone but Sid is being blamed for his failure. Maybe he doesn't have it in him? Koi toh isse consider karo. 😆 Just coz he's an outsider doesn't mean he gets a free pass.

Oh and I don't believe the KJo rejecting his film thing until the day Sid has no more Dharma projects. 😆😆😆

He does have some talent as an actor, of course his expressions suck but he does have a solid screen presence. He needs to take roles similar to the one in HTP, he was very endearing and charming in that film.

Oh no. That's not what I meant. Lol😆 I'm not blaming KJo for not giving him opportunities. KJo gave Sid a lot of opportunities. What I meant by 'mentoring' is that KJo is aware of Siddhaths strengths and weaknesses. He got opportunities but maybe not ones that are well suited for him to play. As I said before, he is cut for a certain type of role as he isn't a great actor so he should have just stuck to that. For example, Varun does Masala hero quite well so most of his roles (barring Badlapur) have more or less been commercial masala type roles. Be it Main Tera Hero, Dulhania series, Judwaa, etc.

P.S. I'm not a fan of Sid. Lol😆 I'm just speaking as an audience. Again, he should stick to charming,chill characters like Kapoor&Sons, Student of the Year, and Hasee Toh Phasee. He doesn't have the acting chops or screen presence in him to do thrillers (Ittefaq), masala hero (A Gentleman), or patriotic roles (Aiyaary). Versatility isn't for everyone. Sometimes it's better to survive with your strengths than trying to be versatile when you can't pull it off and exposing all your weaknesses.
