I'm personally not a big fan of Padmaavat. BUT I think people who are throwing these daggers at the film through 'misogany' or 'feeling like a vagina' are looking at the film from TODAY'S point of view. This film is not set in the 21st century where we have rules, regulations, and hope for justice. It's set in a era where the choice was between captivity or death.

I have no time for people who cannot differentiate between Sati and Jauhar (It's school knowledge), and are judging a 13th century film through the lens of the 21st century.
By this logic, even game of thrones should be meted out the same treatment for the barbarity that we see in it, because, after all, it's watched by the sensitive 21st century audience.

Bunch of hypocrites.

P. S Not a fan of Padmavaat.

Why is it so difficult for some people to watch a film with the time that it was set in mind? It's a film set many years ago, besides jahaur Wat were these womem supposed to do? They r not warriors, they cannot fight off khilji's army, so should they surrender and get raped and tortured for the rest of their lives?

The film is not telling women of today to commit suicide, it's telling the story of a women many years ago, Wat she had to do save herself and other women from the clutches of a evil dictator, it's a story, why r people dissecting and trying to put it into today's time? Yes jauhar wudnt fit onto today's times, but for padmavati and those women it was really the only option they had

And it also showed padmavati saving her husband, she lead the plan to free Ratan Singh,
