Raid song Sanu Ek Pal Chain: Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz's romance will remind you of your special one

The makers of Raid have released the love song, Sanu Ek Pal Chain, featuring Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz. Raid is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and also stars Saurabh Shukla. It will release on March 16, 2018.

The makers of Raid have released the love song, Sanu Ek Pal Chain, featuring Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz. The song takes on theme of love and separation. Ajay, who plays an income-tax officer, Amay Patnaik, is seen leaving for his daily work and his wife Ileana is seen missing him.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has added his soul in the song. The new version is created by Tanishk Bagchi, who is making a name in remixing old hits. The lyrics are penned by Manoj Muntashir.

Story:

Raid is the story of the longest running income tax raid in the history of India. Inspired by a true case, Raid, is set in the year 1981, Lucknow. Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn), a righteous income tax officer, raids the most powerful MP in Lucknow, Rameshwar Singh (Saurabh Shukla), popularly known as Tauji. Tauji resorts to harsh ways to save his money, his image and his career as a politician. But nothing deters Amay from doing his duty. Tauji wants the name of the informer but Amay just leaves him with a clue and sufficient time in prison to figure out his adversary.

The scene

It's a foggy winter morning in Lucknow, the city of nawabs where Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz are shooting a romantic song for their film Raid. Director Raj Kumar Gupta welcomes me on the set with a steaming kulhar of tea. Like his most popular film No One Killed Jessica, this film is also based on a real-life case. He says, "Such subjects attract me, fascinate me, engage me.

They are shooting in a bungalow, which is portrayed as Ajay's house. Raj Kumar informs, "Raid has been shot on real locations. Ajay, despite being a superstar, is comfortable shooting on the streets of Lucknow amidst crowds. Fans went crazy watching him.

Ileana D'Cruz, who is playing, Ajay's wife, Malini, in the film, joins in, "We were shooting at the Ghantaghar, where a huge crowd had gathered. It was crazy. Ajay asked the girls to be sent back to the hotel first. He escorted us to our vehicles himself.

An assistant director shares a sweet anecdote, "Police officers and their families also came to watch Ajay sir. They waited for hours to meet him. They said they loved his character in Gangaajal and wanted to emulate him. He adds, "One day a little girl kept calling out to Ajay sir. When he walked across to meet her, she asked, Where is Kajol mam? Main unki fan hoon'!

Ajay has excelled in roles, where he has donned the police uniform. But here, he plays an officer without the much-loved attire. Raj Kumar explains, "We tend to associate heroism with uniform. But income-tax officers, generally, don't wear uniforms. As is the case with Ajay Devgn's character in Raid. As we chat, Ajay shoots a special video for the Uttar Pradesh Police department.

Later, Ajay, Ileana, producer Kumar Mangat and Raj Kumar sit on the terrace of the bungalow and enjoy the sunlight. It's lunch time and when you are in Lucknow, how can you not enjoy the local delicacies? Ajay's favourite are kebabs from the restaurant Dastarkhan. "Ajay loves to order food. Although, I've never seen him eating much. In fact, I end up eating most of it, laughs Ileana. "I've been eating yummy stuff. I ordered Galauti kebabs three days in a row, she says. Ileana loves Lucknowi kurtas. "I've bought many of them.

I wanted to go to the local market myself to pick them up. But security would be a problem. So, they got me the collection at the hotel. Perks of being an actor! she remarks.

Lunch done, we get back to work. The late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's number Sanu ek pal chain na aave, now reprised by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, has been included in the film. As it plays in the background, the camera captures the love between Amay and Malini. Amay is leaving for work but Malini is reluctant to let him go. It's raining and Malini chides her husband for being unromantic in such beautiful weather. Raj Kumar explains, "We wanted a song, which would convey the intimacy and be in tune with the time period. Bhushan Kumar (producer) suggested this song. It matched the situation.

Just then the water tank bursts and water spills out everywhere. The artificial rain sequence is stalled for a while. Choreographer Raju Khan goes about setting things right. Ajay, who's known to be a prankster, is up to his games. He tells the assistant directors that if they manage to complete his shots today, he'd gift them all iPhones. There's a flurry of excitement around. But alas an AD informs that it wouldn't be possible to can Ajay's shots that day. Ajay has the last laugh... like always.

Just then a lady comes along with her son to meet Ajay. She says her son is his huge fan and loves his dialogue from Singham, "Aata majhi satakli! Ajay obliges them with a picture. Kumar Mangat, who has also been managing Ajay's career for more than 25 years says, "Pleasing your fans is part of the business. All they want is a handshake and a photograph. But yes, people shouldn't take more than two minutes. He shares the secret of his long association with Ajay saying, "We trust each other. He views my films as his home production. If something goes wrong, we never play the blame game. We accept it and move on. The day is about to end. Ajay invites the team to his hotel room for food, fun and conversation.
