Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz-starrer period crime thriller film, Raid, arrived in the cinemas today. The film, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, has received mostly positive reviews from critics across the country. The audience too has positive things to say about the film. But what will its performance at the box-office be like? (Raid movie review: An entertaining film laced with Ajay Devgn and Saurabh Shukla's power-packed performances)

We spoke to film trade analyst Akshaye Rathi to understand the box-office prospects of Raid. He says, "It has opened to encouraging numbers particularly in the urban centers and the word around the film is positive in general, which is good news. It will end up posting a healthy total of Rs 75 crore by the end of its run."

As for the opening day collection of the film, Akshaye says, "It should have earned something to the tune of Rs 9-10 crore."

Raid, bankrolled by Panorama Studios and T-Series, stars Saurabh Shukla as the antagonist. The film is inspired by the the real-life income tax raids conducted by Indian Revenue Services back in the 1980s.
