Hrithik actually has a weak screen presence if you ask me. SRK doesn't has looks, physique or dance, but still he is more popular than Hrithik, because he has charisma and screen presence. So Charisma and screen presence is more important than anything.

What Hrithik was doing in Dhoom 2, Krrish, Bang Bang was not even acting. He was just doing action and flexing his muscles.

According to this forum logic, any actor who plays extraordinary characters also becomes an extraordinary actor. That's not true at all. Playing a common person is very difficult for a mainstream actor, because they just can't put their star aura behind.

Also playing an ordinary character, and still leaving a mark requires some special talent.

Yes, he can and more better. If u think D2, Krrish, Bang Bang or Akbar is not acting, then maybe u shud ask Models to do it and we will see. Dhoom 2 had him play different bahiroopiyas. Using same logic, Lunchbox, Piku, Talvar, Madaari is not acting. It is Irrfan just talking n murmering like he does in real life. And i have given enough examples of Hrithik playing Common Man characters in Fiza, Mission Kashmir, KNPH, Lakshya, ZNMD, Agneepath and even Kaabil. A mainstream star can play common man. But a Art cinema guys can never pull off a Krrish or Akbar or Bang Bang or Agneepath.

Then, Salman Khan shud be the Best Actor of all then bcoz he has maximum charisma n screen presence. I thought we are talking about Acting. Bcoz if popularity decides it, then Hrithik beats Irrfan big time. So, decide for urself. The less we talk about SRK, the better. Aamir, Hrithik and Ranbir are Good Actors n Stars in India. SRK and Salman are only Stars and One trick ponies. They never take risks.

To compare Irrfan with Hrithik is like comparing Smita Patil with Madhuri Dixit or Rekha. The former are good batsmen. While the later are All Rounders like Dhoni. 😎

No but excessive gloss and glamour can.

I don't find Aishwarya much of an actor, still she was technically decent in Devdas. But the kilos of makeup, jewelry and outfit kind of worsens her performance.

Not for me, I cannot overlook bad/mediocre acting. E.g DP looks gorgeous onscreen but the min she opens her mouth everything goes down the drain.

All I want to say is.. I will take irrfan over HR any day.. HR is pretty overrated!!

It's hard for me to answer this since I find very few ppl in bw attractive.. but a great performance will always come through though.. like I've always liked guys like Paresh rawel, anupam kher, naseerudien shah, om puri and so on because they were genuinely good at most of their roles throughout the years..

It's their performances that made me like these great actors.. nothing else!!

Yes, what Hrithik did in D2, Krrish or Bang Bang was not acting. You can call it whatever but those films weren't remembered for Hrithik's acting skills. Even John Abraham and Vidyut Jamwal can play such type of roles. They have the looks and physique, can do action, but no one calls them a great actor. Irrfan can't play those roles because he is NOT a Hero. He is known and praised only for his acting skills.

I can imagine Irrfan playing Hrithik's role in Kaabil and Lakshya(if he was young enough), and in ZNMD, Hrithik left no impact whatsoever. Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol, who have done more art cinema, overshadowed him.

Hrithik was not playing common characters in Agneepath or KNPH. He was playing a typical Hero in those films. By an ordinary character, I meant people like you and me, I.e. Real people.

A superstar can never play a real common person on screen, because that star aura always stays within them.

So you think Hrithik can play an old man in The Lunchbox?? Or a quirky Rana in Piku(here he was really playing a common character), or a fierce dacoit in Paan Singh Tomar??

He looked like a real cop in Gunday and Talvar. Can Hrithik play a cop?? Except Ajay, I don't think any mainstream actor can replace Irrfan in these two movies.

Hrithik is yet to prove himself in a comic role, so how he would've played his role in Hindi Medium, or even Thank You??

It's not all about versatility either. An actor can be flexible enough to fit in different genres, but it's of no use if the performance is just average to below average.

3. You came and said, Hrithik will overshadow Irrfan, because he has good looks, physique, dance etc.etc.

4. I said these things don't matter more than Screen Presence and Charisma. These two things are required to get audience attention.

6. Irrfan isn't a Superstar because his acting style is different than other Bollywood actors. He's a subtle actor, whose acting style is more appreciated in Hollywood than Bollywood. In Bollywood, people want actors to be more energetic and on your face.

Nopes, more then beauty what matter is the actors screen presence and how they emote on screen, yes also how they deliver their dialogues & voice modulation; which most of the BW popular actors & actresses lack.

I have never found Aishwariya Rai B a good actress even though she is good looking.

The only way Hrithik can do ordinary roles if he sheds his star image, as he can act.
