Oh lord. You need a history lesson so bad. Americans didn't appear outta thin air. Only red Indians are actual Americans tied to the land. The entirety of its white population have European ancestry. Most of them have British ancestry. So technically India was colonised by Americans,if not America.

Another author injecting her own poisonous identity politics, we have people who see vaginas in everything, and others who see Hindu-Muslim in everything. Never knew Khilji and his army are considered representatives of Muslims by these people. 😆

SLB actually went to great lengths not to show Khilji as a religious zealot (which he actually was) but just a pure unhinged psychopath. No mention of jihad, dharma, destruction of temples, jizya etc etc... it boiled down to a guy wanting another man's wife, essentially this was a portrayed as a war between Khiljis and Rajputs, not Hindu - Muslim.

Just as padmavati's jauhar does not threaten 21st century women in any way likewise Khilji's madness does not in any way represent muslims. And if we are to take Padmavati's characters as symbolic representation of thier religion then Rajputs should take more offence than muslims as to what a foolish character Maharja Ratan was ! Rajput ye rajput wo ! Yada yada yada ! Oh common khilji betrayed u twice and still he went in on a duel with him and at the end .. ik jang tu asool se lari hoti ! Like what even man ! U are a king ! Arent u suppose to be smart enough to realize who can be trusted and who cant be? These kind of asools are foolish and not brave at all ! 😆

And as for padmavti .. the one dimensional characters are the flaw of the film .. god like hero herione and a satanic villiam .. no greyish feel ! Total 80s ka movie plots !

Stopped taking New York Times seriously long back. Their articles are too one sided for me. I only appreciate their reporting on ISIS, and that's because they have a solid reporter in that section.

Not at all surprised to see them making it a good Hindu Vs bad Muslim issue. That's so typical of them.
