Oh and also, the original poem did not portray Rajputs as positively as SLB did. In the poem, Ratansen was punished for his ego (that manifested after achieving his beautiful second wife) and was punished by a god or goddess while he was at sea - Padmavati and he lost all their people (all the men and 16,000 women) because of his ego.

An adaptation implies that ONE medium is adapting art or the story of ANOTHER medium. In this case there is no ADAPTATION happening. SLB didn't adapt shit, he only picked random bits and pieces from the poem and changed them around to create a new story. Can't call that an adaptation. And regardless, what's your point? You said "it's an adaptation of the poem lol. Get on with it. Get on with what? That implies that we shouldn't complain about the film because it is only depicting events or characterizations from the poem. But as I have told you, it is NOT depicting Allaudin's characterization from the poem. So please, what should I get on with? You make me cringe, not laugh.

Agenda-driven review.

The movie isn't good but the pov of this critic is based on today's political climate.

You just can't seem to do anything without the left getting offended these days. And let's not even talk about the likes of Karni Sena. They are simply useless goons who have the support of the government.

Btw Guardian gave it 4 stars.

For people here saying one should read the poem before commenting, am a bong who has infact read the Bengali translation of Padmavat and I know exactly what am talking about so you can keep your 'read the poem first' bs to yourself 😆. Y'all need to look up the meaning of adaptation first. Its almost like y'all don't know what it is and that's sad.

Nobody gives a crap what you say because it is self-evident from your comments that you're pulling shit out of your ass. I am a minor in film studies and I can assure you that you don't know what adaptation means, so spare me. It's almost like you're sitting on some high horse thinking you're hot shit, but you're not, and that's sad.

Precisely. It has become a norm to appear fake woke on the internet by calling out stuff islamophobic for no reason at all. Gets you those wokeness points. Whites were doing it centuries back still doing it now lol and assheaded ppl still keep falling for it. Yikes.

What these critics want is to either show Khilji as a good Muslim ruler or completely stop showing India's history which is rife with invaders who slaughtered, looted and plundered these lands. Unless you are generalising or criticising the religion and its principles, which the movie didn't do, how can it termed Islamophobic? Khilji was a recorded bloodthirsty warmonger and his actions were the result of his desire to conquer, nothing to do with his faith and constantly bringing it up, it's like they intentionally want Muslims to be incited, even though he is not a worshipped figure or anything 🥱

Exactly whatever you said, right back at you. This is hilarious. And one doesn't need to minor in film studies to know what adaptation means. LMFAO.Several oscar winners with adapted screenplays have had big time tweaks in their scripts because they wanted to interpret things differently. So you spare me. Like you said, It's almost like you're sitting on some high horse thinking you're hot shit, but you're not, and that's sad. Stay heated. 😆

Oh wow, your point of reference are Oscar winners. So genius. How could I have ever doubted you?!

Resident Evil is so butthurt that the movie is succeeding when he/she has been saying it will be flop. Reviews have a place to be posted to and you posting it in a separate thread shows that you want it bashed. Well the review might have trashed it but at least the audience didn't trash it like Dudwale
