Padmaavat actress Deepika Padukone gives a tongue-in-cheek reply to Swara Bhaskar's open letter to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, saying that maybe Swara went out to get popcorn and hence missed the disclaimer😆😛

She replied by telling India Today, "She (Swara) probably missed the disclaimer at the beginning of the film. You probably went out to buy some popcorn and missed the initial disclaimers that come out. I think, secondly, the fact that it is important to view a film in totality and to see in which period it was set in. Third of all, I think for me this film is not just about the act (jauhar) that they all committed, but it stood for so much more. For me, it's a celebration of women and their strength, power and dignity.

As for the men of the film Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shahid found the letter a bit "odd, Sanjay defended the Jauhar scene by calling it an act of war and Ranveer simply went on to say that he received a message from Swara congratulating him for his performance in the film

Perfect reply imho. No over use of vaginas and space. Short, fierce and simple!

yep...you go Girl... Even SLB's reply was good... Its an act of war waged by the women folk at the time, when they didnt have any other means to takcle the enemy.

As someone commented in another thread. The enemy had surrounded the fort for months and cut off the ration n supplies, rendering them weak, just thinking of fighting a battle upfront could've lead to a loss, thereby making them available to the enemy. Hence, this was the only option available.

This is the real her.😆 And I love it. This woman knows she needs to survive on diplomacy in this men dominated industry and she channels that mostly but here you see the real her done with publicity hungry camp Sonam ppl and just going for the kill with the popcorn line. Kudos! People like Swara who justify stalking in today's movies because she stars in them got no business opening their mouths about a practice prevalent in 13th century lmao. Someone gve her some brains.

She must have expected backlash after doing the film.

Neat & Clean. Glad that she didn't mince her words. Want to know what was Swara's response who is busy retweeting every other tweet that supports her .
