People who are saying #Padmaavat Collections are weak.. Plz take a note, this film has not released in BIG cities like 1-Ahamdabad 2- Surat 3-Rajkot 4-Bhopal 5- Indore 6-Gawalior 7-Jaipur & many more good centers . What ever bz its doing is HISTORIC. Period

Regarding jauhar it was made clear that they don't have any other option other than self immolation seeking refuge is out of question cause the neighborhood kings refused to ally with raja of chittoor as they were afraid of khilji's wrath.

Before jauhar padmavati reasoned that this is dharma yudh and by self immolation khilji will lose the war ultimately and true to her words khilji failed at the end cause his main objective was possessing padmavati and he couldn't even see her properly.

Even i was against the jauhar idea initially when i heard the story plot but when i analyse now it was the best decision at that point especially after seeing the condition of the rajkumari in chains

My friend in Mumbai who was going for the movie said the screening got cancelled due to riots and the show he was going for was in a mall, not even a single screen.

Just watched the movie. Found the first half very slow and haphazard. The last 45 mins is where the film actually picks up. And the ending gave me goosebumps especially because of that rani sa background score and look in deepikas face.

Ranveers performance was good but I feel the character of khilji was too much of a caricature. That being said its amazing how confidently he pulls that off

Deepika I had very low expectations because of how blank she was in Bajirao but she actually surprised me with her improved dialogue delivery especially in the end! Especially her ever so expressive eyes doing the talking. I was a bit skeptical of her looking like the beauty she is supposed to in this movie coz the posters weren't that good but she looks every bit a royal and ethereal queen!

Shahid was very regal and poised just how his role demanded. Hats off to him for agreeing to play this restrained role in contrast to khiljis loud character!

Didn't like shahid and deepikas chemistry so much and I wish the plot of the film was half as engaging as the effort put in by the leads. However the jauhar scene was so perfect. Its not supposed to glorify suicide but that point that was the only option. Very well executed scene.
A good one time watch overall. The first half really let down the film overall

Around 28 crores expected today with no release in major states and threats on going. 2.5 days only and the movie would cross 50 crores. 100 crore weekend easily. It is running houseful as per reports.

I watched it yesterday (FDFS in London) - was midday but hall was quite full.

Can't be bothered to give a proper review.

The film was as expected quite boring, nice visuals, great performances, lack of characterisation, half-baked supporting characters, melodrama, stunning costumes, bad CGI, pretty good fight scenes.

It was an enjoyable one time watch. Unfortunately I wouldn't go to see it again. The songs were misplaced. The best song on the album "Nainowale Ne" is not even in the background. Bite Dil comes out of nowhere and it's just weird. Khalibali is very cool. Holi is a waste or time. Ghoomar also kinda comes out of nowhere and doesn't really fit the narrative. It's just there because SLB wanted a song-and-dance.

The story moves along sooo slowly, it's really tiresome. Some dialogues were outstanding (when Deepika meets that yogi type person) but many others were cringeworthy. The climax is basically half a page os script stretched out to 25 minutes.

SLB needs to sort his non-visual, non-audible aspects of his films, i.e. the storytelling part.

Today? I dint hear anything infact my friends have gone for the show and are watching at the moment..
