Okay , if that is your perspective then none of the so called super stars got blockbusters in their credit with out a popular star , the only exception is probably Khans at their peak of their career . There was a phase people watched movie just to see an actor or actress onscreen but that era is over . Now a days people watch movie if the screenplay is good or remotely good the only exception is youngsters they might get attracted because of few catchy songs or a heartthrob .

I agree that Deepika is not the only factor for the success or failure of any of her movie ,but she contributes to the success more or equally along with the lead hero . During Ramleela Ranveer was not a star so the main attraction at least initially was DP and SLB , but remember SLB directed Ramleela after 2 flops , Piku another film without any of the 3 Khans ,sure one will argue AB was there , but if he could really attract audience single-handedly what happened to Shamitabh and the films after Piku except Pink ? Even a pure offbeat movie like Finding Fanny's initial collection was 5 crore that too with limited screen , sure there were lot of accomplished actors in the film but I doubt their ability to attract the audience by oneself.

And regarding the ongoing argument on DP's limited screen space comparing to Khilji that's how the director wanted it , he wanted to highlight Khilji's evilness comparing to that Padmavati's role was subtle , so it doesn't matter whether it was DP or heroine of your choice the screen space would be the same. Many of the audience were saying that the last 15 minutes was superb ,and it was the part were an actress can show her talent and she did it . And the audience unanimously agreed that DP looked ethereal and regal ,since this movie was about a Queen known for her beauty just looking beautiful was an important part of the movie.In my perspective what is the relevance of Khilji if the movie was not about his obsession to Padmavati and what is Padmavati's relevance if she didn't face a life changing challenge in the form of Khilji ?So both were inevitable part of the movie.

I personally believe movie making and it's success is a team work at least in the current scenario so just because you dislike someone you cannot ignore or deny the contribution of that person.

I think she was deliberately behaving like this to shame Padmavati into going. In her head Padmavati would be taken by Khilji, shamed and never return. You can tell by her reaction when they succeed and return

Just because Ranveer is getting praised *cough he did get the meatiest and most fletched-out role* doesn't mean Deepika isn't. She's getting A LOT of praise with her portrayal. There's been many people who also found Ranveer OTT.

IMO SLB should get most credit! He is a brand in his own right. Why is Ranveer suddenly getting the credit for the success? Obviously the Karni sena crap helped, Deepika was the face of the movie - the male actors were seen to be nowhere before the release. It's only the 5th day at the BO and apparently all that credit goes to Ranveer? OK THEN!

This forum needs any excuse to bring DP down! It's a shame that she's only soaring higher 😉
