Mehendi hoti hai na. Just that in early days.. koi special function nai hota tha. Mehendi wali aati thi.. mehendi lagati thi. And that would be it.
Aaj kal TV serials n movies dekhke.. every ritual has turned into a function.
Pehle.. We used to do Garba on speaker in our Varendah outside the house and close relatives who are staying and neighbors would join in. No fancy dresses as such.
Last couple years (from when I was in school to I completed my college) I saw a change. We then started having a separate Garba the night before the wedding day. A full on function like Sangeet. With Garba group Singers, A Stage.. Food and of course with Fancy ghaghra-cholis. Now many even have choreographed dances as well.
Booze generally nahi hota. Log pite honge.. not in open though. Non-veg depends. Non-veg wale rakhte hai. Vegetarian nai. 😆
