No one is denying DP is the most popular actress right now, but what some of us are saying is that no current actress is a female superstar as none of them have the box-office power Madhuri and Sridevi had. When a current actress is able to deliver back-to-back hits, without having another well-known celebrity featuring along them and being the predominant focus of marketing and predominant character for a movie, we all will agree that she is a superstar.

It is quite common to overrate them and put them on pedestal when they are out of the rat race. Every generation will have their own superstars and will be compared to their successors. If Madhuri and Sridevi are indeed the untouchable superstars, their movies like Aaja Nachale, Gulaab Gang should be super hit but they aren't.

Deepika is most popular now, among all age groups irl not just social media and a superstar in her own right given the audience preference now and digital era takeover. So it isn't right to compare her with Madhuri and say she isn't worthy to be compared.

2 decades from now am sure deepika will be hailed the same way as some untouchable human being and her performance will be considered some masterpiece which no one else can do.. happens when she is out of the rat race, that doesn't mean whoever is superstar then isn't worthy!

Madhubala/hema/Madhuri/Deepika all achieved unparalleled super stardom and should be celebrated equally.
