Being gay is not an insult. But continuously insinuating that someone has reached somewhere due to making a powerful person happy in bed is certainly insulting when that person has had lot of body of work, talent and looks to back him up.

And yes those insinuating that someone is gay do mean it as an insult. And why are always Ranbir and Ranveer fans trying to downgrade others achievements by constantly calling more talented and good looking actors toy boys? Are they incapable of competing with these actors otherwise purely on the basis of work?

Mostly fans of the actor who last got a hit standing on Fawad's shoulders. They even have a problem if a Fawad thread is opened while have no issues with millions of Bipasha-KSG threads which they participate in with great zeal.
