@FB but Rukaiyya was never neglected from whatever little is known. Wasn't she someone who Akbar always consulted and in fact Jahangir as well as ShahJahan were raised by her and Salima. She was loved and respected by Akbar as well as other wives.
But Ekta arghhh she ruined it by making her a villain. I stopped watching after 1 month max.

I felt like banging my head against my seat in BM, I would've loved a film between Kaashi-Baaji! RS-PC were FIRE in that film & that was real love to me. Whereas Mastani just stalked him & he took pity on her & built a palace for her.

I wish people accepted the fact the even though Mughals invaded India they left a rich culture and in fact were very tehzeeb type people. India is an amalgamation of different culture.
But Khilji oh my god they made him look dirty not even tanned 😆

If I not mistaken, in the end Rukaiya apologizes to Jodha and then agrees that she was superior to her in the drama😆

Speaking of Salima, she was reduced to a mother figure of Akbar whereas it is said that they actually had child together. I still remember the outrage of fans when Akbar was shown to have gone to spend a night with Salima! 😆
Well, that right there depicts the mentality of most t.v. viewers. If they dont have the brains to understand historical facts, why do we blame the makers who only cater to the wishes.

Khm- of course, Ruqaiyya was given a lot of power & authority by Akbar and she was highly revered too despite not bearing any kid. That is indication enough of her clout in the kingdom.

How quaint! Not.

The show hurt my brain at one point and I let it go. Enough was enough. 😆

^^God yesss. Don't remind me. And tells Akbar that sinners like her need to go to Haj but Jodha has to be crowned Mallika-E-Hindustan! God the torture.

K: Exactly!! Mughals were extremely refined & cultured people. I completely agree that No-one, ESP warrior caste rulers, can ever see their land being usurped by invaders but when you've prime idiots like PRC ruling kingdoms, who allowed Ghori to return unharmed after he tried to MURDER him, 4-5 f**king times!!! God at that point you deserve to be looted & usurped. [:x]

I think the problem is that people just go on extremes.. What they forget is that Hindus and Mughals did live together for a long time and for a large part were not at loggerheads... It was during the later period that things changed but we have the tendency to look at things with just a single dimension

Also I dont get how both the parties let angrez off the hook so easily😆😆

^^ No way did Rukaiyya actually say that

I was a big PRC fan and had Rajats cutouts and was crazy ahhh those days but gosh PRC let Ghori go so many times only to be captured. I mean how can you let go off someone so many time.

Wasn't Jahangir half Rajput and Shahjahan was like 75% Indian? I think the Mughal empire is a shared history. The cultural elements are so deeply interwoven that it is unfair to some extent if they don't get credit for it.

^^You can. You can when you're a prize idiot! My relatives keep singing praises of PRC & I've to keep reminding them that he wasn't magnanimous. He was just an idiot. Then they tell me that he was extremely brave--- Which is when I tell them that bravery & stupidity go hand in hand.. No wonder they don't like me, lol... Yes she did tell Akbar that in the climax episode. Jodha was crowned MEH which serves her right. She was a massive MEH.

Rasgulla: Whooo said?!? They villianise the English ALL the time!!! Everyone has their good points & bad ones too. The English did too. The Mughals did too. These extreme versions of history/film portrayals are not what I am a fan of. I love layers & complexity. This just kills it!
