Ooh Ekta' s JA is the topic of the hour. LOL
I really liked it...especially the first 50-60 episodes. I liked Rukaiya more actually until she was turned into a standard Ekta villain. Her character was relatable as someone who always craved love but never got it from the man she desired. And hence her insecurity stemmed and aggravated throughout. Additionally her penchant for power was a nice touch and the astuteness was enviable. Someone said it right, Ekta's villains are the real feminists while the heroines are always tourted, docile souls, happily waiting for ae more torture. LOL The telly Jodha was horribly one dimensional, in terms of a fictional lead of course.

FB: I couldn't agree more!!! I absolutely loooved Ruqaiyya when Smiley Suri played her! Fascinating character. I hated Jodha. Bloody boring & constantly preaching & incredibly self-righteous & stupid as a whole. UGH. I bet the real Jodha wouldn't have been this bejewelled overtly sanskaari sourpuss! She needed to have opium pellets stuffed in her mouth. me thinks, unbearable creature!

MEB - I agree! She was an awful self righteous smug and to think she actually got away with all these 🤣 Only in Ekta's alternative history. And it is absolutely unbelievable that the real Jodha didn't have to partake in internal harem politics to acquire what she did!

This is what Jodha kind of was😆
Although she may have enjoyed a certain status in Akbar's imperial household after giving birth to the heir, she gained prestige only during Jahangir's reign (as the emperor's mother), after he had succeeded Akbar as Mughal emperor in 1605.[5] During the reign of Jahangir, she was amongst the most prodigious women traders at the Mughal court.[28] No other noblewoman on record seems to have been as adventurous a trader as the Queen mothe

^^Yes and can you imagine what Ekta reduced her to?? Complete shredding of her character. But since there is dispute whether such a person with all these background details called Jodha, ever existed, most things are up in the air. Whoever she was, she was an extremely prodigious & shrewd businesswoman! Her personal fortune was greater than the fortunes of small kingdoms of the world in that age!!!

Wese SLB agar JA banata tou there would have been a dance faceoff between Rukaiya and Jodha for sure while Akbar watched in the sidelines with Salima😆

^^Yes! And all the Hindus would've been shown as overtly sanskaari idiots while the Mughals would've been shown as extremely ruthless & cunning arseholes! Ugh! Such simplistic depictions. I felt like banging my head against my seat in BM, I would've loved a film between Kaashi-Baaji! RS-PC were FIRE in that film & that was real love to me. Whereas Mastani just stalked him & he took pity on her & built a palace for her.
