I would anyday prefer Randeep, HR, Milind S or even Irfan Khan as the king than SK. No offense to him, he might be good and nailing the role, but unable to digest him as the king.

I felt the same after watching trailer. Now after watching him in Ghoomar, it has grown strongly. He has too small face. It looks even smaller within that beard. Add to that, his slim body. Nowhere he looks like a king. (He still looks good for Ishq Vishk).

When rumours on casting rumours were floating, I once read a TV actor was considered. I wondered whether it could be Rajeev Khandelwal. With Shahid on board, that rumour died and I totally forgot about it. But whenI watched Shahid in Ghoomar, I did think of Rajeev Khandelwal's fit body and matured face.

Ratan - Fawad and then Vicky Kaushal (since these are the names i heard around the time, rumor or not)

Padmavati - Deepika or Aishwarya

Khilji - Ranveer, or Aamir (he is an actor that can get into a skin of character and change his whole look) or even Vidyut Jammwal.

I put Prabhas also for both Ratan and Khilji

AISHWARYA as padmavati YES... that would have been great ... Deepika is good but i never found her beautiful ... that too when you are making film on Queen Padmini ... extraordinary beautiful lady was required ...

anyways deepika's acting and dancing skills are good as well

apart from aish ... Madhuri also ... but her age is over now to play padmavati ...

FOR KHILJI - RANVEER ONLY ... or ranveer as ratan singh ... his physique is too good for historic roles

Aishwarya as Padmavati would have been fine 10 years back not now because now she does look old. Deepika & Ranveer are fine for their roles. After watching the trailer & ghoomar song I felt Shahid looks complete misfit as King Ratan. 😲 He doesn't look like a king atall & fails to make any impression. I feel they could have taken someone else with good built. Hrithik, Vicky kaushal, Randeep hooda, even Salman.
