I honestly feel it's kinda hard to find someone matching her in BW industry(for royal roles). Although yes Aish and Madhuri in their prime days would have come close. DP is too contemporary looking, too thin to pass off as a woman from the era gone by and just bad dialogue delivery.

I can see Vidyut Jammwal and Sanjay Dutt as Khilji. They have really strong, commanding voice and look very masculine as well. But I am happy with what Ranveer was given and has done. He will pull this off, I have no doubts about that.

Ranveer looks perfect for khilji's part so let him stay

I can totally imagine Prabhas, Anushka and Rana reprising the roles of Ratan,Padmavati and Khilji respectively but that being said I still love the cast.
Some scenes of Ranveer is definitely OTT but that is SLB representation otherwise he has done a great job. And wish Deepika was a bit more healthier as they preferred voluptuous figures those days. But otherwise even Sonakshi would have looked regal.
Shahid is looking great and I am liking everything about him. Fawad would have also looked good but not sure how he gave pulled those sword fighting scenes or the well toned muscles as he is diabetic.
