Yes, that is something I find to be the case as well, and I'm glad that someone can see what I mean.

Sometimes the harkat in his songs is a bit too much...to the extent that it ruins the enjoyment for me.

Still, I like a number of his songs, though his voice type and the above mentioned reason mean that he is not amongst my favourites.

I have started appreciating him more nowadays, after listening to the current lot though.

The sleepy, auto-tuned, bland songs by popular singers these days, who all sound melancholic and worn out!

I just hate to hear a song where the pronunciation are bad. And here toh where one word starts and the other ends you have no idea. I mean it's completely lost on me most times what the hell a person is trying to convey through the song. I really can't lose in the feel of the song like before. I'm so glad someone else also feels the way I do.

Sonu's grasp on Urdu and Hindi vocabulary is amazing and he knows exactly which words to stress on. Plus he has an amazing grasp on the nuances of a song so you can actually lose on the feel of it. Sometimes he overdoes it, but most of the times when he gets correct and when he has the right music director to back him, there is none who can beat him.

I used to like arijit. I still do in some songs coz he is so talented. But you can't lose in the feel of his songs. Just when you start enjoying a song he skips a letter or sometimes a word and you're like .. why?? The diction is the first thing that irritates me follows my the accent followed by the sad undertone of even a happy song. It's so crazy that before I joined this forum, I actually used to like arijit. 😲

He is underrated..His talent being grossly underutilised..His talent cant be expressed in words..😕

Overrated to the core! Like others mentioned KK and Shaan are better and way underrated in this forum. Glad he isn't singing much these days. I wish the same for Arijit also do overrated and annoying.

He is the best ever. The person who is grossly overrated is Arijit Singh!!!! Cannot sing to save his life!!!

Nopes, I don't find Sonu Nigam over-rated. I feel he has much more potential and music directors should use more of his versatile voice. I love his voice, its a kind which can fit on anyone. Its neither too soft nor too hard. So he can sing most songs, on most actors and won 't look bad paying tribute to legends of yesteryears.
