Too old school for you? Mostly their movies are feel good easy very simply presented entertaining movies. Do give them a try when you get a chance.

Better director- Shyam Benegal. Better films- Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
Can't bring myself to finish most Shyam Benegal movies, subject matter is always too bleak for my liking, and Shabana who features in most his films puts me off, never thought she was the bees' knees, hope I don't face the wrath of film connoisseurs for this.

Loved Zubeidaa however, who would have thought he could have extracted that from Karishma.

The reason I made this topic was to pick members' brains and divulge in some old movie discussion. So why would anyone jump on you for having an opinion and expressing it in the place you are supposed to? we can all agree to disagree in respectful way.

I love Shyam Benegal movies and the way he narrates his stories. Also love Shabanaji. She is/was natural.One of best in the industry.
