^^^The problem is BW people never give credit (and money) to the original source

And give the impression that it's 100% their own imagination in their IVS

Nowadays bcz of internet people find out 😛

@bold--- that is unfair.. they ought to be honest.. we can understand and respect if they found 'inspiration' in some other original work? :p

Betty, do you think money should be given to original source?? It'll be very complex if that is made mandatory no?

I think that's the law here (west and I believe in India too but not followed)

BW songs have inspired western songs too but they give credit and that usually means monetary compensation too

For e.g. The song "Jaan Pehchan Ho" from the movie Gumnaam (1965) appears in the opening credit of HW movie Ghost Word (2001) They approached the sons of the producers of Gumnaam and acquired the rights of the songs... And acquiring rights means money is paid 😆

Black eyed Peas' song "Don't Phunk with my Heart" had samples of several songs, two of them "Ae Naujawan Sab Kuchh Yahan" and "Yeh Mera Dil Pyaar Ka Diwana", both recorded by Asha Bhosle composed by Kalyan ji Anand ji

They were given credits and when the song won BMI awards , it was awarded to the Ji brothers and Anandji collected it in person

oh wow, never knew this:) ..this is a nice way of going about copying or inspired work, respecting the original sources :)

Now that I think about it, when such credits are given, some part of the global audience may feel interested in music of the source country.. I wonder if we have such a law in India, atleast credits should be mandatory..
