Dekho, I don't think everyone follows the same pattern of downfall but yes, I think SRK's time is up to a major extent. What the "he will bounce back!!" people (I include every fan of older actors in this) miss is that it's far easier to bounce back as 30-40 year olds. At fifty, everything must be sustained and decided carefully to an extent. I also think ke people miss one very important thing in this discussion. That is, SRK's ageing. Maano ya na maano, SRK has been ageing terribly. BW is so much about looks and glamour. I am no fan of Salman but in the Kashmir half of Bajrangi, he looked so good onscreen in black attire. SRK has not been ageing as well. My fave Aamir is botoxed but he looks okay onscreen and doesn't do romantic films. All his romances are subplots. When you ask a badly ageing actor to romance a young actress onscreen, it won't work. Unless it's some kind of a fantastic plot, it's not gonna work. Aur since SRK's biggest strength has always been his romantic films, he is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Ab romance kare ya masala kare? What do people want from him? He doesn't get it at all.

Finally SRK is definitely on a downward spiral and this film, in particular, was a bokwas decision as usual. Audience faith is a very important thing. He has been doing such bad films for years that it's pretty much an impression that his film will be bokwas. Salman ki baat alag hain, he has a different sort of fanbase. SRK and Aamir actually had a shared fanbase once so I know. SRK's viewers have lost faith in him. Ab can he get it back? In theory, yes of course. But I don't trust him to make the right decisions after seven years. If ALR can save him, he can make a comeback. Otherwise, he is done as a top star. Uske fans sirf social media par chillate dikhayi denge about his "global stardom".

Why is SRK having such a bad time, big directors, production house, even own funding, big heroines, big release dates, everything, still no single HIT?

Because he deserves to flop with his mindless movies trying to repeat his same old 2 decqdes old charm and think audience are foolish to waste their hard earned money on him.
He has become annoying both on screen and offscreen . .

To be honest i liked watching Dilwale but that movie was still a mindless one

This is true. Amir and SRK had kinda shared fanbase jo budhaape pe Amir leke chala gaya with his good movies 😆 , and SRK had chosen romance as his genre to leave a mark in BW, now that he is 50, his audience are now like in 30-35+. Like SRK said in the TED talks, he sells dreams. His audience who were mostly in their teens and 20's earlier, dreamt to be the Raj or Rahul for whom girls would ditch their fiances and marry them. But now they are in their mid-age. 30-35+ audience ko love story ka dream sell karna is bewakoofi. They are either married or settled with kids and if nothing at least they have steady girlfriend and none of them is in self-discovering mode anymore neither do they want their fiance to leave them and find someone else. 😆 So his dreams remain unsold.

SRK still has the advantage to move to good stories which strives on family oriented drama. May be he would gain back his audience.

3 years ago was 2014 and he had a hit HNY, so I'm gonna disagree 😆

Though I do hope he'd get back in the numbers game but his next isn't all that promising 😭

@ Minzpie, sorry I can't quote you for whatever reason but yeah, especially in that Bhar Do Jholi song, he looked legit good onscreen. He is really lucky that his skin is so good.

The star in him may be gone but then some will say the actor can emerge and he can give us great performances. If the promos of JHMS are any indication than I dont see that happening either😆😆

Actor/star sab katam. 😆
