Good article. It's a bit harsh, but the writer is correct. Ranbir is a good actor, but he's fast becoming overrated. I can only shake my head when people compare him to Aamir Khan.

I agree with this article. I just can't understand why the industry Guys insist on calling him an outstanding actor when he isn't. He has been fairly inconsistent in his performances. The only movie where I felt he actually performed and deserved accolades was Bombay velvet. In all others I just didn't understand the hype. Even in Ae dil hai mushkil... I didn't find his acting great in fact in the initial portions it looked like he was trying to be some character which neither he nor we understood. Comparatively Anushka was far superior , so were Ash and Fahad. Same goes for Tamasha and YJHD where Deepika was far superior to him. Finally someone is calling him out on it

IKR! It looked so unnatural, couldn't tell if the character supposed to be all whacky or he was overdoing it for comedy..

^^ Like I found the acting so horrible in these scenes.. I swear, any other actor doing this would have been slammed for hamming it up but critics always go soft on him and he got Best Actor noms 🤢 W*F

This industry has started calling everybody a superstar nowadays...if you are a star kid...then earlier than the others. I mean even Arjun Kapoor is called a superstar!
RK, keeping his personal life aside(which is very important), is a good actor...though limited. In the review thread... I read someone called Barfi a fluke...it's not Barfi but Besharam's opening what was a fluke. Those days masala films were great in demand. And I think Besharam had some holiday advantage? It took a great opening. But couldn't do the same when it came to Lifetime.
RK as an actor is independent...but as a movie star is way too dependent on others. Even after 10 years, the connect between the masses and him...isn't too strong. Shahid till date has not achieved it! Not many from his generation have it...example RS,Imran. From the next set of stars...VD somewhat managed to do it.
The writer should've mentioned some other actors too who are being touted as "superstars"...unke liye agli baar kya fir article likhna. Ek baar mein sabka kaam khatam.
Among the men...HR was the last superstar...IMO.

Ranbirs so called Star status vanished since he got real competition from other young actors. This has nothing to do with him takeing "risks" or being experimental. When i remember it were those movies which payed off for him. Till now in all his movies the story is always about him he is the main focus still he didnt manage to sustain his so called Stardom according come. I remember how his fans started laughing if you would compare him to Ranveer or Varun.

And the whole industry trying to blame other people for his fail is ridiculous at the end it doesnt matter for the audiences there are too many people who dont care whats written on social media or newspaper. They mostly decide to watch the movie bc of the actor in it and all the promo materials. Seems like most of them arent interested in a Ranbir Kapoor film anymore.

😆

At last someone spoke the truth, RK is a decent actor but overhyped, if he was such a superstar his films wouldn't become a disasters continuously.
