Yes, his Dangal prediction was very risky . I was amazed that he got it right.

1) Honestly, it's all gained experience. I have always been very fascinated by box office and that's why I started writing predictions in 2012. Over the years, I have gained strong knowledge of what works with the Indian audience, despite the fact that I'm Canadian. I've always had some talent with numbers as well. Here's a detailed article on how I accurately predicted the opening day of Befikre:

2) Raabta had a bad trailer which was disliked by many as well. That was the biggest giveaway that this film will fail, and the high costs associated with the film only made matters

Half Girlfriend didn't do any great business, but I was expecting the film to do better given that it was the post-IPL period (a period in which films have done huge business in the past). I figured it would have mixed WOM, predicted the opening accurately given factors like Shraddha/Suri combo, popular music, Chetan Bhagat, etc but it didn't cross the 100 crore mark I was expecting given the post-IPL period. The mixed-to-negative WOM got the film to eventually settle around the 60 crore mark.

Bobby - When you are predicting , how seriously do you take this forum , its opinion, the buzz on forum and opinions of people here?

Do you consider BW forum's opinion seriously or dismiss it completely?

I don't want to trap you in giving answer. I am told that the movie that has buzz here, flops or doesn't do well outside. Is it true?

I am also told that number of topics on forum before movie = Buzz on movie. So if there are many topics, even if they are negative ones, it is good buzz.

Answer when you have time. And if you feel it is loaded question, don't answer it😆

@ ranbirrocks, I do take into consideration the buzz that a film has on the forum, particularly for the bigger films. I look at the amount of likes that the trailer has of a big film here. For example, I remember many people bashing the trailer of Besharam on here, and the film ended up flopping at the box office. Same with another film that year, Himmatwala. Generally, if a trailer has less likes than the amount of page numbers, then I know the film is in trouble 😆
