In my opinion, bashing is a subset of criticism which is both destructive and unfounded.

Hmm...See but my criticism that I think is valid and justified by some explanation and examples may not be convincing to another person. It may come across as invalid and thus bashing. That is why to me, while I think I criticize others may think I bash. One person's criticism is another person's bashing. That is why I am confused as to what is what 😆

I am probably one of those rare people who dislikes SRK because he insults people under the garb of humour. I have seen him do that a lot & unlike others, I don't find that funny. I find it downright insulting. But I don't bash him because I respect his hard work, & can see why people find him charming. He is articulate & knows how to please.

I hate one actor only and bash him for very good reasons too.

Some actors I like onscreen but dislike offscreen for various reasons

Most of the bashing is a tit for tat game that goes on over here.

Fair enough.

I think putting an effort to explain your viewpoint is sufficient for criticism to be constructive. I do not think it is bashing.

There are many people who offer no explanations and resent having their views questions. This would be bashing.

Criticism is subjective. There are some arguments people won't buy and will disagree on. But disagreement on arguments is not bashing. In general, I think the forum lacks maturity in this area. If anyone says anything negative about one's favorite people label it as bashing. There is a lack of respect that someone else may not like some things and should be free to express it.

I don't hate any of them but I bash actors just to rile up their fandom 😆 This is mainly for my sadistic entertainment and has nothing to do with any actors.

TV actors fandoms are scary to me. I went one day to the IPK forums to see what the fuss was about with the whole new series. Oh the bashing, the counter bashing and the almost worship among others. I thought our forum was bad, but no. 😲.

I have stopped getting thrilled by riling up fans. I just leave my comments without a care. May be I am getting old. 😆 And partly because I don't have the time & energy these days to indulge in long & swirling childish arguments with fans.

It really is a scary place down there at IPK forum 😕

Usually I drop a comment there and run away and you arrive days later and they would be still fighting over your comment with like 50+ pages of essays 🤪
