One thought... Like all of u are thinking, an engagement ceremony might not have happened in kunthala bfr hamsa naava song. Do u really think Mamma's boy Amarendra will get engaged without his mother being there?? Or without even informing her abt it?? I don't think so😕😕
All the news abt shooting an elaborate engagement scene n grand set fr it may also be just baseless rumors. Because all those news were heard even bfr release of BB1😲 n that wedding n first night , even hand bridge shots also appear to be shot after BB1 release (both D n S faces looked a bit rounded there. In the initial 2013 shot scenes like court scenes, all the faces looked a bit younger)

Part 2 of boar hunting scene:

Once again, I loved the whole thing Meenu. Loved the way you described the falling catching scene, and how Devasena checked on Amarendra!
Everything was so beautiful! Why- oh why- did they have to kill off Amarendra? :'(

Btw, would love to read it from Amarendra's POV too :P

Not an elaborate engagement per se... but I don't think the King would send Devasena away just like that. As it is, Amarendra had already promised to marry and protect her. So the King and Queen might have prepared Devasena and gifted a royal attire to Amarendra, blessed them and then sent them to Maahishmati.

In the Hamsa Navva song, we can see the maids putting the engagement ring on her. But why the maids? Why not Amarendra?

That is true. The family of an unmarried daughter would never send her away with a man without some form of engagement. For example, back in those days, there were swayamvars, which were nothing but engagements. When a princess garlanded the groom of her choice, she was promising to marry him and he was promising to marry her, so groom's parents' consent was not needed for an engagement. When it came time for the wedding, unless the groom's family had a valid reason for breaking the engagement, they were required to accept their son's bride. In Vedic marriages back in that era, only the bride's family's consent was required for marriage, not the groom's family. So Amarendra would be well within his right to be betrothed to Devasena without his mother's consent, especially since he was so confident that his mother would accept Devasena happily.

@bold,

There are no such things as engagement rings in Hindu vedic marriages, especially in that era. The concept of engagement rings came from the western society, particularly from the British when they occupied India. In Hindu engagement ceremonies, or nichitaardam as it's called in telugu, both sides of family exchange tamboolam consisting of new clothing, flowers, fruits, and if the family is wealthy, also gold. The groom's side gifts the bride with a new saree which she'll wear to the ceremony, and the bride's side gifts the groom with a new dhoti which he'll also wear to the ceremony. After tamboolam is exchanged, the couple is considered betrothed.

The ring in Hamsa Naava is probably a typical adornment of a princess.

I think some wedding scenes were filmed, but during the editing process they were all cut out in favor of other scenes. Rajamouli did say they filmed a lot more scenes than were shown, but in the editing process, not all of them can be shown.

I wish some of the earlier AmarSena scenes in Kunthala were cut in favor of post-marriage scenes. The Kunthala scenes were cute, and I did like them a lot, but I really yearned for some happy post-marriage scenes before all the drama started, but literally every AmarSena scene post-marriage involved some form of stressor.

Meenu,
Thanks for the scenes in Kunthala when Amara was acting like an idiot in front of Devsena and family.

Katappa was a real drama queen ... And he was so good being that. Really loved the bond between A and K.

Coming to these missing moments, thanks for writing them. Makes AD more alive to us.

How about writing the same situation from Amarendra's pov? Wonder what he was thinking all the while.

Agree. 1 or 2 happy scenes of AmarSena after their marriage would have been so welcome.

" main kaun sa tumhe bachaana chahta hoon budho. Tumne meri patni ko vachan diya tha ki mere bacche ko godi me khilwaoge. Meri patni ne mujhse vachan liya ki tumhe sahi salaamat waapas le jaaun. Abb thodi der chup raho mama, aur mujhe mera kaam karne do. "

" Bahubali k liye darr rahe ho kya? Jab tak tum mere saath ho mujhe maarne waala payda nhi hua mama! "

Subhah subah mujhe ye sab yaad kyun aa raha hai?? Subah subah mujhe rona kyun hai?

Mirchi is really really an awesome movie. Anushka looked extremely cute throughout the movie. But one thing I failed to understand is why did jai take vennela to Mumbai and then to his office?
Prabhas looked incredible. Goodness what figure. Couldn't take my eyes off him. And his smile. Though I'll maintain that BB has made the most beautiful use of his smile. But mirchi really stands as a good movie. Actually Bahubali katappa and devasena really make an awesome triplet.
