Sivagami -- she was this wonderful mother to Amarendra, who instilled the various notions of dharma in him. These teachings are what made Amarendra rise above the situation -- I think Amarendra was genetically pre-disposed to be a person of great character, but Sivagami shaped his personality just right and made him this great warrior of a person (i.e. nature and nurture mixed just right). I think BB1 introduced her as this person with years of experience and raj-mataship in tow to guide her personage and that is exactly why BB2 should have elaborated more on the build-up of her colossal mistake/lack-of-judgement.
I think it would have made more sense for Sivagami to issue that execution in her sudden bout of anger -- but her realization post-cooling down should have involved cancelling the aforementioned and deploying some trusted guptchars/spies to figure out the real deal (I understand she's very much upset with Amarendra but to straight up kill him without assessing the entirety of the situation doesn't sit well with the character at hand even if she refuses to communicate with him). Seeing the situation flip to the losing side would have made Bhalla trip to make a grave error -- he would make it so that he is the one to kill Amarendra -- of course he does so by creating circumstances to lure Sivagami away from the kingdom. The rest of it would have been like the movie wherein Kattapa is used as bait (i.e. the whole loyalty bit) to bring in Amarendra, however, the differing point would have been a horrified and lamentful Sivagami arriving on the scene and stepping in front of the sword meant for Amarendra. This should have been followed by Amarendra bringing Bhalla to justice and re-uniting with his wife and newly-born son. (just my version of the way it should have panned out)
Note: I don't think anyone here hates Sivgami or Kattapa per se; it's just that we didn't agree with some of their actions. We love all of the actors for bringing these various characters alive!
