BOI is crazy. Nothing against Baahubali but it's still not a Bollywood no matter how much it collected in the Hindi version. So it shouldn't have been included. It's as simple as that.

Don't know about list but i have seen bahuali craze like never before and it deserves to top any list/spreadsheet out there .

Yes, they can do it. But we all know that BOI is primarily a Bollywood movie site. BOI didn't put the profile of any other regional movie or Hollywood movie dubbed in Hindi. Baahubali 2 shouldn't get a special treatment.

Bahubali 2 has become a sensation all over India and the Indian diaspora. That's the reason why BOI has included it in their database. The Hindi version alone will cross 450 crores and worldwide gross will be around 1500 crores. There is no way a box-office site would ignore such a phenomenon.

Bahubali 2 is as big an ATBB as some of India's biggest ATBBs ever (Kismet, Rattan, MI, MEA, Sholay, and HAHK). It has surpassed Gadar as the biggest ATBB of the century. You can't leave such a movie out of the database. It would be insane.

How much did Bahubali 1 collect in Hindi? Wasn't it around 150 crores? Bahubali 1 wasn't as big a rage as Bahubali 2 is all over India. The collections of Bahubali 1 was huge in the South, but not as big in North India, hence, BOI didn't include it.

I do believe that BOI should dedicate a page to international/dubbed movies. It's unfair to Robot that few realize that it broke 3 Idiot's all-India net collections within 6 months. But the dubbed (Hindi) version of Robot was not as big, hence, the exclusion.

On Jungle Book not being there, Bahubali 2 is an Indian film. TJB collected around 185-190 crores in India, which is huge for an international movie, but here Bahubali 2 has collected around 1000 crores gross in India alone. Can't compare the scale.

Bahubali 2 is an Indian film that worked universally all over India. It's among those 6-10 movies that have become pan India sensations. A boxoffice site wouldn't ignore it, especially when it has crossed the net collections of every Hindi movie since HAHK (adjusted for inflation).




Tubelight may do well, but it won't come anywhere close to Bahubali's worldwide collection. Hindi version alone is a big, big ask. Bahubali 2 will finish at 450+ crores. That's not possible for Tubelight.

If we talk about real potential, Bahubali is easily a 500+ crore grosser (10% market wasn't there for Hindi version). It's the same as Bajrangi Bhijaan coming a week after Bahubali 1, which negated it's real market value (around 340-345 crores).

Even for Aamir's movie (TOH), it would be difficult (Hindi version). After Bahubali 2, I'm sure Aamir, Victor, and YRF will up the ante with those action sequences on ships in the middle of Indian ocean, some stellar VFX scenes, and all, but if the movie doesn't have an emotional connect like Bahubali 2, it won't work universally.

Bahuballi 2's 1000 crores gross in India is perhaps a record that will stay for 5 years (unless someone comes up with another mythology-based movie before that).

Yeah, Sundar C is making a movie, a historical fantasy again, in the same lines of BB with 2 parts as well. And it is said to be the costliest movie ever... I dont think its gonna break BB record but lets see anyway...

Robot didnt do that well in the Hindi BO or even overseas market in fact, and hence it wzs excluded. The same goes for BB1.
BB2 is known internationally. It came in BBC news UK, LA times and The Wall street Times in America.
Its a phenomenon and craze in India where even after 2 weeks, its still housefull. In fact, movies that were supposed to release right after are being postponed now. They may release mid May or in the end of the month.

Salman or SRK or Aamir Khan may be, in fact are bigger stars than Rajamouli+Baahubali+Prabhas. They have huge number of fans each. And thats the problem. An SRK fan may not watch a Salman movie or an aamir movie, a Salman fan may not watch a SRK or Aamir movie in the theater and so on...
whereas BB2 dint have that much big stars, they were well known but thats it. And thus it appealed to everyone, and everyone watched it regardless of whose big stars fans they are...

As far as I know, Andhra Pradesh is a state in India. I never knew Maharashtra was India and the rest were foreigns! 😲
