I'm not really a fan of ideal heroes. Most of the time, there characterisation is very boring and it's very hard to relate to them. I find anti-heroes and tragic heroes much more interesting. But one ideal character I really liked was Aman from KHNH. It's easy to understand why anyone can like that character. We all expect someone(consciously or subconsciously) who comes in our lives and solves all are problems, someone who gives us hope in our life if we have lost it. We all expect a father figure in our life who takes our care. Aman's character I don't think he was completely flawless. He showed both the shades of selflessness and selfishness in the movie. He was also a tragic hero, which made me really sympathize with his character.

I'm not an SRK fan nor I think that Aman was his best performance so I don't think I'm being biased here. I actually liked the character.

Honestly speaking BW has clarified what I do not like vs what I like.
1.I watched 1 serial., IPKKND I have a weakness for chemistry but the guy caging her, carrying her at the drop of a hat (which I would have thought oh so romantic at one time), now I saw it as control. Doing all sorts of crappy things and it being excused in the name of a bad past that affected him and the female excusing the actions when he asks for forgiveness because he loves her made me roll my eyes.

2. Even one of my most favorite hero, Rahul of DDLJ. He fasts during Karvachauth, becomes friendly with her family, changes for her, comes after her to a different country. Romantic and ideal right ? No, what bothered me most even as a young teen was the Hindustani Ladki ki izzat. I am a girl of Indian origin living in a western country. If some desi guy respected me but treated girls of other ethnicities without respect why should I trust him ?

So yeah, BW is more a don't than a do. My role model is really my dad who is the kind of man BW does not make movies out of because he is so "dhal chawal" or "rasam rice" in his case as they say, salt of the earth. But decent, kind, fair, hard working, loves his wife and respects her. No masala but the kind of man I aspire to have as a partner and will settle for nothing less.

I'm not much into larger than life characters. For me a hero is someone real with flaws like Abhay from Aisha who was a bit boring workaholic, but overall very sorted n had a practical outlook towards life. Also, he was quite witty at times so cud be fun too.

My favorite hero/heroince/characters of all time are now Amarendra Bahubali and Devasena. They represent the ideal relationship everyone should aspire to, where both husband and wife are on equal footing, protect each other's honor and respect, and support each other during every step of life. ❤️
