Khans aren't that big as they are made out to be. They are heavily dependent on Eid, Diwali, Christmas. Without that, they give Jai Ho, Talaash and Fan. Ready was a post-IPL release, which is the best release period after EDX. Rajneeti, Ready, Rowdy Rathore, YJHD and TWMR, all these movies were released during Post-IPL and all were Blockbusters.

Honestly, its not impossible to give a HGOTY without major holidays, but Khans have habituated people to watch their movies big holidays. Eid only has one day holiday, but Salman has made it a habit for people to watch his movie during Eid. Same is the case with Aamir. Christmas is incomplete without an Aamir film. Other stars too come on Eid and Christmas, but they aren't as succesful as Salman and Aamir, coz public is used to see these two superstars during these festivals. Khans are basically playing a test match. They cant make 4 to 5 movies hits in the same year like Rajesh Khanna used to do in his prime, so they came up with this festival monopoly and that is why they are ruling even after crossing 50.

Nope they were not as he didnt get as much exposure then. They were blockbusters in South though. Magadheera was the biggest earner of its time and establish Ram Charan who was struggling then. Eega was made with a fly and the hero was new then.
Next time his film will be publicized as from the director of Bahubali. That will help. Bahubali2 it helped as it was part 2 of a successful film. Just like Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 or PK2 will be bigger hits than the first part if the second part is ever made. But overall my point is Rajamouli is a very skilled director. His movies will continue to be blockbusters. With the right elements he can repeat Bahubali2. He is kinda like James Cameroon of Indian cinema.

The key to the success of Baahubali is cos the maker put in mammoth effort spending 5 years on it. And the most important part of it all, he bothered to deliver it in integrity without compromising the "masala" or commercial cinema. Since the first one delivered so well, the 2nd was hyped and for example, North America had super high ticket prices which the audience didnt mind. So can Khans be able to promise such a worthwhile experience? If so, u can set crazy prices and expect mad crowd too!

Bold: But people dont admit that. 😆

On topic: Khans are too dependent on starpower...sometimes they spoil movies to do what they think will appease their fan base. SRK and Salman are more guilty of that. There is only so much a movie can which is made to appease fanbases. Khans themselves as debutants had proved there is no need for starpower for a blockbuster hit.

SSR (Rajamouli Sir) does not have to prove anything. His movie Eega (Fly) won various awards in different film festivals. He has critical and commercial success before Bahubali. He is known for his effort.

As for Prabas for someone who calls himself lazy he sure did put a lot of effort for Bahubali. That is all anyone can ask of an actor.

I do agree Bahubali is once in a lifetime, but watch BW will think the audience will go for fantasy now and we will have bad fantasy movies churned out starring starkids who cannot act and minimum effort put in within the shortest time frame.

Sorry, that's wrong. All 2 billion grossers Avatar, Titanic, and star wars released on Christmas.
