I saw the movie on tv for the second time yesterday.. I remember liking it for the first time too but this time I loved it.. It's such a good movie.. Dhanush was excellent and even Sonam wasn't cringe inducing.. Did the movie do good business? I feel no one ever talked about it.. Supporting cast was amazing, I mean everything about the movie was soo good.. The last monologue of Dhanush on his death bed made me cry a river..

well i did not like it at all..
zoya was so utterly selfish ..
fine u dnt love him tell him that n get rid of him..
bt why destroy him like this in return of his love?
ya ok stalking is no good then why she giggled n
subtly encourages n enjoyed his attention?
if that is nt selfishness then what is it?😕

Yes, yes and yes.

I hated the movie. If not for dhanush or ar rahman's music, i would have stopped watching it. Selfish to the core.

yehi hota hai reality main bhi.. koi banda bandi ke peche laga huwa hai.. bandi enjoy kar rahi hain giggle kar rahi hai toh obviously bande ko lagega ki bandi ko feeling hai mere liye..

bande ko kya pata 2 rs wali pen ki tarah uska use and throw hone wala hota hai. 😆

It was more like a selfish revenge story

Zoya was selfish and proud, yes.

But she was not entirely bad..
Noone seems to remember that Zoya blamed Kundan because she thought he ran away like a coward after seeing Abhay's dead body. In reality Kundan ran out of the house because he couldnt bear to face the consequence of his rash actions, and almost vomited in repentance.

Hence rose the conflict and misunderstanding between the two.

It was a great movie imo. Each character had a dark side (like all us) which is shown when they are faced with a difficult situation. Even Abhay's character (the most "positive" one) was dishonest.
I really loved how ALR depicted the story of Khudan and Zoya.
The latter's father liked Khudan once he wasn't anywhere near Zoya...

I think it's quite simplistic and naive to expect a movie to be all rosy or to say that it encourages certain behaviours. People have to see beyond that and understand the message said movie is conveying.
