Because Karishma was supposed to dance better than Madhuri as per the script otherwise In real Madz's dancing talent is unparalleled IMO.

The dance of envy is one of the dumbest choreography of shiamak ever.

I can never understand how he could come up with it even when he had a honed and trained dancer liie madhuri and a decent dancer like karishma to him.

That being said, I personally prefer the finesse and grace any classically trained dancers bring to any choreography ( and by classically trained I also include ballet training, there are so many similarities between ballet and different indian classical dance forms btw its astonishing how people see the difference only).

The music ia loud and choreography is really not to my taste, but the rhythm kind of echoes karishma's character's anger and frustration I think.

Overall ridiculous choreography

Its unfair when firstly, dance movements are governed by two characters' emotions. Here Karishma's character is jealous, and wants to prove she is a better dancer. No one else can take her place both as heroine, dancer and SRK's friend. So her movements are meant to be aggressive, challenging, meant to subtly show down Madhuri's character. Whereas Madhuri's character is meant to be calm, secure in loving her dance, who even when Karishma challenges her with her aggressive steps. Even then her character stops to appreciate karishma's dance. There is difference between both characters. One is seeing someone else in her place. She is angry, insecure and jealous. Whereas Madhuri's character just believes in loving, growing, enjoying, living for what,who she loves.

For me this dance off has never been fair, on equal footing. Madhuri's character and even movements show her inner security, calm. Karishma's show her character's insecurity, jealousy. So whose movements are meant to be stronger? Karishma's! Also there is a finesse, in movement,s, etc which karishma surely lacks if you look closely. Madhuri is a complete dancer. Real dance off would have been when both characters would have challenged each other, each wanting to prove herself better ; with an equal competitive spirit. In this song, competitive spirit or challenging spirit was given to only Karishma. So, I don;t think Karishma was better. She was over-rated for me

Why are we even comparing? The dance was ridiculous. I dance better in my Zumba class.

Honestly this dance does remind me of Zumba lessons! It prob didn't need much skill !

Surely the meaning of stiff is different for person to person I guess because Aishwarya was extremely graceful and fluid in Dola Re. In fact Ash was given harder steps too, with more turns and bends, all of which she did flawlessly. Madhuri was equally great, just that she was given simpler steps and her relatively heavier physique made it difficult for her to do it as effortlessly.

Pinga in itself is an underwhelming song when compared to Dola Re where both the dancers don't even come across as real dancers. So nothing to say about that.

..you yourself said meaning of stiff is different from person to person. That doesn't make your meaning gospel truth. Y not leave your opinion aside and let others opinion be instead of trying so hard to prove what clearly isn't visible in dola re video. Blind hatred makes people truly blind.

When did I say my opinion is gospel truth? Stop putting words in my mouth.

When did I try to prove something? I clearly expressed my own opinion and as far as I know one could disagree politely as I did. Unlike you I didn't go around calling someone blind for expressing a different opinion. 😆

And if Madhuri was pregnant during Dola Re? It was shot in 2001, she gave birth in March 2003. You can do the math.
