It's Holi and no one, not even the Begum can escape this colorful and vibrant festival.
Keeping the spirit of the festival alive, the team of Begum Jaan shot a Holi song recently to showcase the celebratory moments of the film. Composed by Anu Malik, the song is all set to showcase the light and fun side in an otherwise powerful and dramatic movie.
After showing us the deadly and fiery avatar of Vidya Balan as Begum Jaan, here is a glimpse of her in a rather festive mood with her Queens aka Begum Ki Jaan.
However, it must be noted that the original Bengali film Rajkahini, which was directed by Srijith Mukherji did not have any Holi sequence. The makers in the Hindi adaptation have perhaps made this new addition to the plot.
Directed by Srijit Mukherji, Begum Jaan is a story set amidst the changing tides of political scenario during the time of Partition. It is a survival story of women who worked in a brothel under the Begum Jaan (played by Vidya Balan). The tagline of the film states, "When Freedom fought Independence."
Apart from Vidya, the movie has an ensemble cast with Naseeruddin Shah, Ila Arun, Gauahar Khan, Pallavi Sharda, Rajit Kapoor, Ashish Vidyarthi, Vivek Mushran, Chunky Pandey, Poonam Singh Rajput, Ridheema Tiwari, Flora Saini, Priyanka Setia, Mishti Chakraborty, Sumit Nijhawan, Pitobash and Rajesh Sharma in pivotal roles.
The trailer of the movie is set to be launched on March 14, 2017. Produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Bhatt, the movie is set to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
