I wouldn't give him a free pass but I also feel that he likes Alia and Varun. That's why he supports their careers so much. It's not just about being star kids..there are many other star kids, he doesn't go about recommending each one of them to the filmmakers right? He just likes Alia and Varun very much, maybe like his kids? And isn't that also natural? Parents usually try to promote their children. It would be nepotism if he just worked with his family or bollywood insiders. But, that's not true, he works with a lot of people, actors and non actors both. So, even though he definitely is biased to a few and may even look down upon many outsiders but it's not like nepotism I think..

I don't know about others but I don't look at who's an insider or outsider before watching a movie. If the movie looks appealing and the actors look like they can act, I will watch it. I won't boycott a movie because there's an insider in it, and neither will I rush to watch a movie because it has outsiders.

No,it wont just like favouring insiders wont stop from insiders like karan aw well !!

And the rest of ur post i completly agree ! But this nepotism nepotism shouting from roof tops from outsiders is getting on my nerves ...

Srk is outsider we as audience supported him and the same karan favoured him ...

Then why not alia or other starkids who are proving themselves are not to be supported is my question !

@Bold Who the hell do you think launched Ranbir and Sonam ? Saawariya was their debut film and both were ADs under Bhansali for a few years I think before that especially during Black. Point is, he just did not hand them a debut career, he made them see parts of movie making before putting them in front of the camera.

@Red Yes, Bhumi Padnakar, Vaani Kapoor, Pari are all insiders. So are Anu and Ranveer. 🤔. KJO considered Anu and Ranveer not good enough for BW. As for Uday if Raj Kapoor and Deols could launch their kids why shouldn't the family company launch him ?

@Pink. Yep, YRF is rumored to launch Jhanvi, Sara, Aryan not Dharma. 🤔. Who is running after starkids ? Not YRF.

Totally agree with you. Shouting nepotism everyday is not going to do anything. It happens everywhere. Hell, I see it everyday at work. 😆

Yes the outsiders have to work a lot harder than the starkids,but it is what it is. They are aware of it, and are trying to make the best of the opportunities they get. Life isn't fair, gotta deal.

so it is more of a case of nepotism + favoritism..i don't see him giving offers to other outsiders especially after 2 back to back flops..he now has sid in ittefaq despite brothers and BBD..

Also I rate sunny higher than anil kapoor (producers son) and Sanjay dutt..

The already established outsider SRK kick-started KJo's directorial career thats why KJo is close to SRK

And Sid is also an exception for whatever reason. Maybe he gave chance to outside directors but where actors are concerned Sid M is the only one.

Otherwise KJo is a hardcore nepotist.

Nepotism is nothing new.

Has been going on since 1950s...right from Kapoors to Mukherjees- Samarths to Roshans, Dutts and Deols ...they have been doing this for generations...introducing kids or family members to the industry, promoting them, making sure it remains a family business.

Basically the nepotists of BW want to keep the industry contained within and limited to all the numerous Bollywood families and their offshoots.

Its like a Giant Filmi family Club where outsiders rarely get entrance.

A look at this list below reveals almost everyone is related to some BW family or other...very few are true outsiders. Even Akki became an insider when he married Rajesh and Dimple's daughter
