I think it's very easy to generalize. Does Karan indulge in nepotism? Sure but to an extent. I mean Alia and Varun are kids from the industry so of course they have the advantage of knowing him through their fathers and getting the foot in the door as they say.

But what I find baffling is this notion that he is intolerant to outsiders. So many directors have been launched by Dharma and a lot of them aren't kids from the industry! People like Shakun Batra, Tarun Mansukhani, the guy who directed Brothers, Shashank who has directed two movies now for Dharma are all outsiders. Hell some of his closest friends are outsiders! Be it Shahrukh , Niranjan or Manish.

I also find it amusing that as soon as Sid's name comes up, one is told of the rumors that linked him to Karan.Karan has been even linked to Shahrukh for crying out loud. So this insistence that he would only launch an outsider if that outsider is involved with him is preposterous to say the least. As for Sid being talentless..ha! The guy got quite a bit of critical acclaim for HTP, Kapoor & Sons and even movies like Ek Villain!

Someone mentioned television, wasn't Sidharth Shukla part of HSKD? I think he's also someone who has been seen at some of Karan's parties. He too is an outsider.

Nepotism without being talented can only get you so far in the industry! The fact that Alia and Varun are darn talented is something you can't take away from them. Yes, perhaps they have been given quite a few opportunities due to Karan but they have been able to sustain their stardom due to the talent they possess.

I think most people know of YRF having these three movie deals with a lot of actors they have launched. Quite a few who have been launched by YRF have talked about how they consult Aditya when it comes to a lot of their career decisions. I feel like the same goes for Dharma. Sid, Alia and Varun were launched by Dharma so I don't think it's that surprising that Karan is playing a role of mentor to all three of them.

Karan, unfortunately doesn't quite know the meaning of nepotism...or has just tired a blind eye toot coz kangana said it...I don't remember who but someone else in this season itself told him he supports bolly kids in rapid fire n he said yeah I'll take it ...as in he accepts that...so it is hilarious to see him defending himself on that flimsy ground...nepotism doesn't mean it has to be own child or blood relation...it can be anyone in your know who has been favored coz of that reason n not coz of talent...nepotism is everywhere not just in Bollywood...heck not just in India either...n movies r not an exception in industries practicing nepotism...

You will find even Akki's pic in these family trees, only SRK is not there at all, he is the True Outsider!

Akshay got married to twinkle after becoming successful makes him an insider ? I didn't know he knew twinkle and Rajesh khanna back in 1988-89 🤔 and Rajesh khanna launched him or recommended him ...

With this logic even srk is an insider when he became permanent part of yrf 😉

Adi advices, Karan has made an exclusive picture deal with Alia like for 10 pictures or so. Look at her filmography. Her entire career has been handed to her by him barr a few. She is a hard worker and talented, wants to prove herself so we the public did not lose. Imagine if those films had some untalented starkid who was more interested in preening, posing, plastic surgery and stardom than actual acting. Jhanvi Kapoor seems like that. Mentoring is different from handing a career. Adi mentors, Karan hands a career.

SRK didnt marry into YRF family,😆 look at the BW family trees in that list above, all of them are either related by blood or married into the BW family

Akshay came on his own, made a name on his own but he got more acceptance and industry support only after he married Twinkle.

Give me one good reason why Kjo should spend his hard earned money on people he doesn't know. His movies, his money. He is not preventing anyone from entering the industry. 😛 😆

But he told Kangu to leave the industry just because she called him flagbearer of Nepotism.
Who is he to tell anyone to get out of BW? BW ka theka le rakha hai kya? 😆

The real answer lies in the film he makes. He produces characters that are from rich backgrounds. You know, "rich people problems"

Why are we after Kjo for nepotism when none of these people are his relatives? Why not go after actual fathers, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts who hire their own?
I think the whole nepotism+ KJo whining is so irritating. It's his movie, his production. He can pick whoever he wants to pick. He does not owe anything to people he does not know. I would understand if it was a political office or business that was not his own. I think it sucks big time that we miss out on potential great actors and actresses because these director like to work with select few but it is their right.

As for Kangana, as much I love her as an actress she is one shitty woman. She is going to sit here and act like she is anti nepotism when she knows for sure she would've taken advantage of such connections if they were given to her. She is most likely bitter because the married actors she had affairs with banned her and it prevented her from getting work for some time. She was fine when she was working with her married boyfriends. Nepotism, connections those were not an issue then.
