Forum standards are hilarious, DiCaprio is one of the ugliest men I've seen IRL. Lacquered in heavy foundation, very bloated, & dressed like he was trying to pretend he was twenty years younger & in better shape.
I do think very beautiful women, like very "classically handsome" men find it hard to be accepted within their own gender, unless they go out of their way to make themselves more accessible. Angelina Jolie was only loved post philanthropy & adopting Maddox. Aish is a different case but she always had the "dignified" tag, but she never had a giant male following like Kat, right? Rihanna (though I think she is greatly improved by makeup) only started being loved post becoming more accessible as a celebrity with "sassy" comebacks, more interesting fashion statements, songs that reflected more of an individualistic personality. It girls are very flash in the pan and the male audiences that eat them up move on quickly to whoever is next (Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, etc) All of the most popular celebrities on Instagram are pretty but approachable, nonthreatening types. (Like how Shraddha Kapoor, Disha Patani get the most likes, same with Selena Gomez) Even what girls rate as pretty & what guys rate as pretty tends to differ pretty largely accdg to surveys, the ones who do well are the ones that never skew to highly to rather gender.
Even in Bollywood, charm/likeablity is probably the biggest factor. Popularity always inflates the perception of looks. I personally think Taylor Swift looks like a rodent, but she's considered a "pretty girl".
