Ashoka was and is the greatest for INDIA and that is why his symbol is the NATIONAL EMBLEM. It is on all national bodies and passport.

INDIANS ARE PROUD OF IT.

I find this whole debate completely petty & totally irrelevant. At 1 point it has to stop & that point was more than a month ago!!! No-one cares what 2 famous people call their child & people becoming supremely touchy about things like names is completely uncalled for!!! And he means to say that Ashoka is a violent name because Ashoka was said to be very cruel & violent before he converted to Buddhism (even if it a lot of this was exaggerated, it must be true to an extent) Alexander because of the presumable bloodshed he would've caused during the battles he fought. A name could be Osama & he could be a saint, it could be Adam & he could be a psychopath. People need to be so so so so so touchy about everything in this world & do meditation 1 hour daily.
