Oh god get over it. Kumar Sanu is Sonu Nigam's daddy when it comes to singing. And if the man was such a miracle why didn't his foray into movies turned out to be a success? King Kumar Sanu had great success in Bengali movies on the other hand.

I dont understand the constant need to put down Arijit?

We've had worse singers (Like Himesh) and nobody battled an eyelid for his sucess? Arijit CAN sing and has his own place and fans.

lol kumar sanu is no where near to the greatness of sonu nigam ...kumar sanu has been average singer all his carrier he sang similar kind of mid scale songs again and over again with typical nadeem shravan compositions ...he wasnt versatile enough plus ...to be compared to Sonu Nigam...Sonu Nigam vocal range power , Sonu Nigam classical skills ...Sonu Nigam expressions , Sonu Nigam screen pressence , Stage Singing ..Kumar sanu is not half of all these aspects of Sonu Nigam...Kumar can not sing Sau dard hain , Abhi mujh main kahin , Satrange re while Sonu can easily sing all those romantic sad songs kumar sanu was singing in his time much alike songs

who compared Kumar Sanu with Sonu Nigam should see this video before drawing any conclusion , Sonu is way way ahead of any singer of his time

Never liked Sonam Nigam's voice or singing, barring a few songs, none has remained with me. He imitates Rafi a lot.

Sonu Nigam is the best singer of sub continent .. uske ass pass bhi nahi koi 👏 soulful melodious voice with the base of classical and perfect command on modern pop songs ., he is a singer to whom mana dey stated that you are born in wrong era you should have been born in our era so that i could have given you healthy competition

😳 Agree, Glad I opened this post. cannot do but do wow and Aww at his singing. When he sang "ae mere pyare watan" and the other song's aalap in Saturday episode of Indian Idol, could not help but repeat my Wow. As if he is only competing with himself. To sing every genre song, every generation's singer songs; and make them seem so good too only Sonu Nigam can do it.

As for comparisons with other singers, I think every singer has his/her fans. For them they are the best. But Sonu is above such number games now. Arijit is today's hero yes, and he deserves where he is. But he isn't Sonu Nigam and he will always have his range especially in live singing. And before anyone starts blasting me as if I insulted other singers. No, I love all singers, good music whether its Kumar Sanu or Arijit. but there is something called versatility, range which very rare singers have.

At least he has the capability and talent to "imitate" if you use that word Rafi sahab, or any other singer. Some singers cannot even dream of attempting and when they do, they simply ruin the melodies.
