Aditya Chopra's Befikre comes with the usual Bollywood romance plot. Yet, the film keeps you engrossed with its beautifully shot song and dance, and loads of hot scenes involving its lead stars.
There is a lot of chemistry and vigor between t Ranveer Singh, Vaani Kapoor throughout the film. And as expected, their lip locks keep flowing throughout the film.
Synonymous with the film's title Befikre, Vani Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are carefree in the love scenes. They look endearing when they dance on the lovely streets of Paris.
Even at the start, Befikre begins with a flurry of kisses and a peek at the Paris's love life. The audience are already have a hint on the series of between Vani Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, as revealed by the film's prerelease posters. Yet, it is surprising to see how the censor board has evolved since the old, conservative days of Bollywood.
The plot of Befikre revolves around a Delhi guy named Dharam who goes to Paris to participate in a stand-up comedy show. The thing is Ranveer Singh looks nothing like stand-up comic here, although he is endearing and looks mischievous as always. Dharam meets an Indian girl brought up in France named Shrya (played with poise by Kapoor). The pair gets into a romantic relationship which turns stormy before culminating in a breakup. And guess what... They becoming friends again, reminding us of some earlier Bollywood movies.
At times, one doubts whether Chopra achieved what he planned when it comes to execution of the plot. There are some scenes that seemed out of place and needless.
Nevertheless, Befikre is a happy-go-lucky movie that arrives with plenty of enchanting, romantic scenes. It is one of those movies that has what it takes to make you leave the theater smiling.
