So Ranveer apparently said and I quote ' Katrina has one expression in every film'.
Now putting aside the fact that this kind of direct statement about someone's talent esp Katrina, who some might argue is still an A lister in Bollywood ( am not gonna gloss over the fact that Katrina's run at the box office hasnt been ideal), has not ever been made by someone like Ranveer Singh who is definitely an A lister or on his way there ( there are always arguments over his current staus quo in Bollywood at the moment), I dont think he has said anything remotely wrong.
I saw Katrina fans saying ' Karma is a bitch' and 'Ranveer will never have the box office success' and this pure gem ' He's jealous because Katrina's prettier than his gf' and also ' who is he to judge anyone's acting'.
Now am not really a huge fan of the guy's various antics but am pretty sure noone can ever disagree that Ranveer can act and act better than most of his contemporaries. So, I think he qualifies to comment because he's skillful at the craft himself.
Also, the other comments. Ranveer wasnt talking about box office- he was talking about acting prowess which Katrina lacks immensely. How is that a surprise since everyone already knows this and has seen it. I mean its the truth isnt it.
The other day, Kareena said the same thing and I saw people bash her.
But I dont understand why. What they are saying isnt even an opinion-its a fact. Katrina lacks acting chops. Time and again, every critic has said this.
I just want to know why they are getting bashed for stating the obvious and in all honesty the truth.
Is it because they seem they arent humble ?
For a forum thats always going ' stars are fake', ' superficial', its amusing to see honest and blunt statement like this is creating chaos? I wonder why.
I also saw someone say' Katrina is so dignified. She wont ever attack anyone' Say anything bad'.
Am sorry but how is Kareena's Ranveer's statement 'undignified' or an attack or 'bad'. Its something people here have said innumerable times. Its something thats common knowledge. People know Katrina's star appeal but they also know of her lack of acting chops.
Also, the blatant need for every actor to behave the same way. They are individuals, they can behave however they want according to their personalities. Katrina's personality is different from Ranveer's or Kareena's. Katrina fans somehow state that her personality is ideal because of the fact that she keeps mum and doesnt comment on other actors or their talent. Dont think so. Nobody set her approach as the standard in Bollywood.
So, why the chaos? For stating something thats true. It wasnt a personal attack, it was a comment on her acting. Are some people that much in denial about Katrina's lack of acting skills ? .
