Katrina came to Bollywood when we did not had a pretty young exotic face opposite actors for years. She is was the perfect flowerpot who would look good against male actors above 35 years of age. All she needed to smile and pose before camera for 15-20 minutes. Soon she got huge fan following.
I must give credit to her that in-spite of never learning to speak proper hindi and knowing few steps of dance she became an Alister. Even more surprising that she cannot even emote properly in most movies.
Katrina's downfall started when people expected female leads to be a good actor. Plus there are many new young faces who are popular glam dolls.
Katrina cannot act. It is the truth. But I would definitely say that she dances well. So people need to accept it and move on.
