This mega star's marriage has hit a rough patch. Guess who?

In circles where it matters, this mega star's 11 year old marriage paints a pretty picture. But grapevine has it that he and his filmmaker wife have hit a rough patch over the last one year. Even though they continue to remain committed to working together on their production house and raising their children, they're not quite together as a couple. So much so that they are living in separate bed rooms of their plush apartment in suburban Mumbai.

While some of their friends attribute this difficult phase as "a normal development" for a lot of high-profile relationships, a growing number of family members believe that it has got to do with the star's fondness for the young and charming leading lady in his upcoming passion project.

The star first met this girl while shooting for his last film and soon after took her under his wings. "He is very attached to her, and has asked her to shadow him to learn the ropes of the industry. He has even introduced her to some of his top filmmaker friends," says a source on condition of anonymity.

Though one shouldn't correlate this fling to the issues in his marriage, the new girl on the block could be instrumental in the crack in this relationship. There's more than just the boredom of a long relationship bogging them down.

It's Aamir and Kiran. They married in 2005.
